Define "AirPods good." If you're looking for music quality, airpods are lousy. If you're looking for ease of use with an iPhone, they're the gold standard and you won't find better.

The Westone sound is better (flatter) than airpods. If you like airpods, you'll hate them. Get something with artificially enhanced bass. Get the Sony Extra Bass or Beats/Powerbeats. They'll sound like ass, but you'll like them.

It seems the rest of the Westone deals that were posted months ago are still up - you just have to use the links from the posts. I ended up going with the W40 for $169, however these all seem like the permanent price for anyone on slickdeals…

The buds by themselves are not bluetooth, they attach to an included bluetooth 'wire'. You can use non-bluetooth mmcx compatible wire if you want, but wires are required for these buds to function.

Westones are notoriously tuned badly. You might enjoy these if you really hate treble, but ultimately I'd recommend the Etymotic ER2s at this price point.

Excellent! the cable on two of my decade's old IER's (that are not replaceable like these models) have finally started having issues. I missed the last big sale.

In pinch, a piece of copper wire might work. Make it look factory with a piece of black heatshrink tubing.

I got mine today, not too happy. The Earphones are Gen 2, the Bluetooth cable is the crappy Gen 1. The Gen 2 cable has good reviews, Gen 1 does not.
