This looks a LOT more like Streets of Rage influenced. The soundtrack sounds like it came straight from it.

Maybe Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World? Granted, it's still people beating each other up, but it's much more cartoonish about it.

Scott Pilgrim would also be my first recommendation. It's an Ubisoft game so it regularly goes on sale. I wanted to also give you a heads up that there's a new TMNT game called Shredder's Revenge coming out this year that looks awesome, and I personally can't wait to play it with my kids.

Another awesome beat'em up albeit not kid friendly is Streets of Rage 4 - that way exceeded my expectations.
