A quick tip to fill your grocery mart is to stuff food boxes like a Mac & cheese box with junk mail or newspaper and tape it up with clear shipping tape. Gives it heft and toddler proof.

Similar to what someone else suggested, I cram plastic bags inside the cardboard boxes (until they're stiff) and wrap them in packing tape. That makes them last much longer. The boxes on the right set are wood but the boxes on the left set are cardboard. My kids (and I) like both kinds. The cardboard doesn't hold up as well, especially if you don't do anything to make them last, but they are more realistic.
