Nice. They matched green toe. $100 more than the integra 3.4 on Adorama. This one worth the extra $100 for the THX certification and extra watts per channel?

I would add this can also process 11 channels, soon will get the option to Dirac Live Bass Control.

imho, you'll be further ahead by comparing features other than thx.
perhaps most importantly, i think that both of those receivers are limited to only one sub signal out(split into two connectors), so if you want to run multiple independent subs you'll have to spend more to do it, and jump thru hoops to make it work.
that's a pretty big drawback for such pricey gear, and since there isn't any competition the industry is having a field day defining brand differences by crippling different feature sets.
That's amazing that they have a 9.2. Do most movies actually have 9 channel audio? I know 7 has gained traction but I don't think I've even seen 9 channels.

9.2 = 7.2.2 for general concept for Atmos and more

Yes object based codecs are capable of much more than 9 channels.
In general 9 channels is probably the optimal setup for the average home.
Two pairs of object based speakers is pretty much mandatory in my experience to make it worthwhile to the move up(5.1.4).

be sure and do your comparison homework.
Good callouts. I do plan on buying 2 subwoofers so I think I'll pass on this and the integra and wait for the Denon 3800h to get a sale price at Adorama since it supports multiple subs.
Onkyo is still having trouble with their HDMI boards. I bought a reciever in April and it was already failing in mid May I sent it in for warranty repair and repair shop has till not recieved the replacement parts so warranty service sucks too or they are just out of replacement HDMI boards because they are all failing!

5 main channels and 4 atmos, that is what I run. Not sure how common it is but that is one use case.

This is 11 channels processing, it's in a different class

I use my 9-channel AVR for 5.1.4 Atmos. I chose this configuration because I don't have room for properly placed rear surrounds, and because, to my knowledge, all of the major streaming services cap out at five base layer channels, or 5.X.X surround. The only time you get seven base layers is with Blu-Ray.
One day I might upgrade too 7.1.4 (or 7.2.4), but for now 5.1.4 sounds pretty amazing!

Just wait for the RZ30. It will come with Dirac live and have 2 discrete subwoofers setup. It is 2 less channels if you have a additional amp to use for the RZ50, if that is a concern. I'm sure you will see the RZ30 on sale for $599.99 in no time on Adorama.
