The included text you put just says the code expired (which is a normal practice, having a set amount of redemptions). It didn't say they ended it early. Am I missing something?

Both - Your character gets stronger, but it is really well blended with the players skill being a solid 50% or more of the advantage. Essentially the armor / weapons / experience will give you say 2-3 extra 'hits' from a boss. But your skill and timing will win the battle.

I opened a support ticket on this issue as well. Expecting the same response but we'll see. I saw the code was supposed to expire March 1st so I was waiting for payday to use it and of course they decide to disable it.
