Wait. Solid core door, even at $20, then $7 construction screws, then 2×4 for the legs, and I am only at about $50. I have the tools too, but is mine going to come out as nice looking as this? Last I checked steel and wood are two different things.
I hate these comments. I personally rather build my own bench from wood. I am not shaming someone for wanting it quick and better looking with less effort because it's so stupid to do so. This is just like all those stupid comments in the Ryobi wall cabinet thread. Yes you can build from wood. Yes it will take much longer and look like shit compared to the metal Ryobi. We get it damnit! You are a real man's man who needs everyone to know it. any additional equipment or materials, like varnish/stain/whatever, we don't have is another reason we are inferior to you. You think wood is super superior and that's why you don't work with metal or weld, not because of a lack of ability. again we get it!
Now go and leave us fools to wallow in the mud here like animals. You are obviously so much better than this place, your talents are wasted here, GO!
This doesn't look like YMMV - seems like a regular sale with lots of local inventory. I'm not sure I would want to pay any more that this for it though.

For something this small? This is an end table, this isn't no workbench.
I bought a used solid core interior door for $20 and got 2x4 Lumber and I made the bench to my dimensions. Solid and heavy enough to mount a table vise and takes all the beating I through at it.
Time & tools. A lot of people want something ready to go.
