I also have the MQ7 that I bought from Costco over a year ago and it's so-so. The picture quality is good and the Series X looks amazing with the game engine and HDR, even at a max refresh rate at 60 Hz.

My biggest gripe with this TV is the software. There was an initial bug that rendered the TV useless until you switched it from Eco Mode. Then there are times when the screen goes blank when changing inputs. Sometimes its SmartCast software freezes and then I have to reboot the TV. The worst is when it registers all the buttons on the remote as the power button, so when you turn the tv on with the power button, and press any other button on the remote, it shuts the TV right off. I was about to file for a warranty claim when it magically fixed itself one day, and I haven't had the problem since. But the other bugs are still there.

I currently own the 65 inch M series 7 so the mid tier one. Bought it in 2019 at Samsclub.

I will say cons for my TV that apply to this iteration is there is no TV guide option. Having owned a Samsung QLED and an old Pioneer Plasma that had TV guide it was a step backwards for me especially since I use an antenna. I thought it was standard practice to have one in every tv until I got this one.

Upscaling to 4K is also another area where my unit struggled. Playing original 4K content from Disney plus or YouTube this tv absolutely shines but sometimes it struggles with tv channels and older videos. It also has a dirty screen effect but it's not as bad as seen on TCL. For a budget TV it does a decent job with picture quality

SmartCast is average. There was a period where it was terribly slow and i went and purchased an Onn Google Tv box. So far that has helped.

Additionally, I've noticed in my observation around public places and at work that a LOT of Vizio units have backlights that fail. So far mine hasn't failed but it's funny to observe how many of these newer M and V series backlights actually fail under longer use.

Again these are all pretty much nit-picky especially for a budget tv but just things I came across and thought I'd share. Overall it's still a decent tv. If it wasn't for the tv tuner issue I'd most likely purchase it again

Why not??
Some people take care of their things.
My neighbor used to be in the electronic business and everything he sold via FB market Place or yard sale was used but in pristine condition.

Buying shiite from a pawn shop that's another thing.

The Hisense R7 is more comparable to the Vizio V series.

How does this compare to TCL 5 series? That one was $298 back late last year and I have been hoping for that to come back. Rtings rates TCL 5 a little higher than Vizio.

Reviews right here. I personally would pass up on this since the black levels are not good.

You will get more of bang for your buck with Amazon's current Hisense H8 55 inch for $449

I have the same TV from costco with none of the problems you mentioned. Yes I changed mode to quick mode and thats about it. I used fire 4K stick so never dealt with any SmartCast issues. You should've just gotten replacement from costco, I did it because first one was bleeding too much light from edges.
