The reason that this hose has been so heavily discounted in intervals for the last few months at $10.98 is because the manufacturer is trying to get rid of them because it turns out that this "Colors" version of flexzilla hose is not drinking water safe as the package claims it is which is printed right on the outer packaging and I believe also the actual hose itself so the manufacturer can't repackage these anyway because it's printed on the hose sleeve and water drinking safe. It turns out that there is something in the coloring of the neutral Earth tone colors that this hose comes in that makes it not drinking water safe versus all of the other flexzilla hoses that are bright colors etc which are drinking water safe. The manufacturer has stated this in the question and answer section of Amazon that it turned out that this colors version is actually not drinking water safe. For some other unknown reason, all flexzilla hoses that are longer than 100 ft are also not drinking water safe whereas the 50 ft and 100 ft hoses are. I don't care about drinking water out of these hoses and quite honestly I don't understand it myself because the inner tube is separated from the outer sheath which is colored and I guess it's just a technicality and perhaps that the Colors version of this hose is actually drinking water safe anyway.

So I just looked again and it's actually the home Depot question and answer section that team flex Zilla answered the question about the drinking water status of the colors hose:
