As a kid this stuff used to work as a lozenge or spray. They removed the original numbing ingredient. Chloraseptic doesn't work.
Zicam used to cut colds by half or more. Then some fake lawsuits sprouted. That's when the FDA decided to force Zicam to remove ZINC from it. Now we know Zinc is one of the main ingredients to knock out all kinds of viruses, including the one we are not allowed to speak of.

I'm pretty sure the phenol version of Chloraseptic works for numbing the area it hits, because I have a half empty bottle of it. I don't want to spray it in my mouth to test it though.

They still put benzocaine in the lozenges, go figure.
