Nothing..if you have one of the higher end Roku's..

But some people like the Apple functionality or have other Apple devices that interface better

I simply cannot overstate this fact enough- the remote sucks arse. In hindsight I would pay for the better remote version. The only saving grace is that you can control it with your iPhone.
