Comments are a little confusing. It looks like this listing was previously for an Instant Pot spatula, and they may have recycled it for this saute clip, while keeping the older reviews.
For the item in question: this appears to be something you use to "clip" the inner pot to the outer pot so that when you stir your food, it doesn't cause the inner pot to rotate. I could see it being useful: one of my most cooked dishes in the IP is a chicken/lentil stew, which requires a good bit of stirring after the chicken is done to help break up the chicken and release some of the lentil starch so that it thickens up nicely. The rotating inner pot problem is something I've encountered frequently, requiring me to hold the inner pot while stirring. Since the inner pot is hot after a cook, that usually means holding it with a towel or mitts. This could make that a bit less cumbersome.
OTOH, one of the Amazon reviews suggests that his IP blew a fuse after the clip left the inner pot in place while stirring, so, YMMV.
I own this. You use it to clip the pot so it doesn't spin when the inner pot is HOT(pressure cooking makes it extremely hot) so you don't have to grab a bulky mitt to do it. It works well for its intented purpose.

I use this and have never had a problem. If he blew a fuse he either had a short or was drawing too much power on that outlet.
Looks like it has some rubber on it for better grip. A binder clip might work if it had enough pressure but you would most likely end up scratching the pot as well unless you jury rigged some of your own rubber on the inside of the binder clip. For a couple of bucks, I think if this is what you need, it's just easier to buy this clip.
if you are clamping several layers of bag it looks like it might work anyway
That's what I was thinking. I didn't cancel the order of 1. The reason is I frequently fold bags 'too many' times and regular clips can barely fit over the folds. I almost wrote that but didn't want to be called a nut or a shill. Also, maybe it still isn't going to work out for whatever reason.
I'm so surprised someone (you) brought that up. Going to rep you for nuance and silly YOLO.

I have a seldom-used IP. Do you have a link to the chicken/lentil recipe or any others that you enjoy?
