I bought this from Costco in November. Have been using it extensively since then. 70% movies/streaming apps, 30% NHL hockey games through Xfinity cable box. I use a Roku Ultra for all my apps; I never bother with TV apps as I generally find them inferior to anything Roku dishes out.

I was debating between this and a 77' OLED. I am glad I went with this TV. But I have a massive wall with plenty of space; honestly 85'' is still too small for my taste. It will buy me a few years until 100'' OLEDs are reasonable.

My thoughts on the TV: it depends on the quality of content you feed it. 4k whether streaming or UHD discs is amazing. I am incredibly pleased. Movies kick ass; picture quality is amazing. 1080p content is only OK. I don't think the upscaling is amazing. Broadcast TV is average, about the same as the 6-year old Samsung it replaced. I sit about 9.5 feet away, so maybe that's a function of larger TV and viewing distance. If you do a lot of broadcast TV you may find better; so many networks still broadcast in 720p (and even 1080) but I feel like the TV doesn't upscale that well.

If you mainly watch 4k content I think you will be incredibly pleased with the picture.

People on here and AVSforum will say this is the 900h and 900h has nothing but problems. The problems you read about are "blurry 4k/120hz". Do you plan to use it as PC monitor or next gen gaming console? If yes, you may care about that. If no, then it literally doesn't matter and you can ignore the noise. A few people make a lot of noise.

I have had exactly ZERO issues with eARC, 4k and Dolby Vision are amazing.

The Samsung QN90 is for sure a better TV with better picture quality. The QN85 may be as well. However the QN90 is significantly more expensive and Samsung's don't do Dolby Vision.

Consider your use case. If you want the best picture, get OLED. If you want a super bright LED and don't care about Dolby Vision or cost, get the QN90a, if you want a good value which thrives with good 4k content and don't care about PC monitor/next gen gaming, consider this TV.

Just replying because there are clearly a few haters/self described experts dropping harsh opinions on this TV.

1- It's massive. I came from a 75" and it's incredible how much larger the footprint is

2- Gaming feels flawless and beautiful

3- 4K content is absolutely beautiful. There's a scene near the beginning of Finding Demo when Marlin gets knocked out and the screen goes black. It goes really really black on this TV.

4- I've done absolutely no tweaks and I am really enjoying the TV

5- I also own a 65" Sony x950G and this one is just as beautiful as that one

I am NOT an expert. But I am looking for value. Meaning. I want a nice TV at this size without breaking the bank. At this price point and size I don't think there is a better option out there.

Also. I bought the Sanus Simplicity full motion mount from Costco to hang. Boxed well with each step packed separately. Website to go to that allows you to perfect where you want to hang and give you exact measurements. And after not initially understanding the hook where the TV hangs on the bracelet- once I figured that out to get it flush from left to right it's perfect and stable and I love that a TV this size can come out from the wall and be turned and tilt so easily. Highly recommend.

Does anyone know about the 2022 model line up or the successor of X91?

I don't want to start another OLED vs LED war, but I was really hoping Costco would drop the price of the OLED 77" model.
77" A1 is $2500 and the crazy blacks in dark is probably worth getting OLED if you watch a lot movies in the dark, but I'd probably go with Sony's OLED if it was on sale.

This is still a very good price.

I think you're right on all counts - and an 85 is about 20% bigger than a 77 - very noticeable!

Toe was $1,999 last week when this was higher. Might be less now. But. My delivery guy was literally trying to haul by himself and rolling end over end from the street to my house and up the stairs. The most insane thing I've ever seen. I denied delivery. I'm definitely getting from Costco now.

What if you had accepted delivery, saved $400? Wouldn't you be able to contact the retailer to get a replacement if damaged upon delivery?

It showed me $2,399.99 4 hours back but now shows $1,999.99. I guess it takes sometime to reflect based on zip code or timezone.

This model is using the same SOC from last year but 75" model or smaller is using the latest Xr cognitive SOC.

The X91j is exactly the same as the x900h which is currently having lots of issues as per the x900h owners thread on avsforum.com. I've talked myself out of this X91j many many times and I think I intend to wait to see what 2022's equivalent has to offer: the x90k.

The thing that bugs me and will bug me is the hdr brightness. I have a Vizio p series that basically scores the same. Categories that will be an issue for me is the hdr brightness and local dimming. I expect an upgrade from the Vizio and not just the same picture quality on a bigger 85" screen

I think it is a pretty decent TV. I ended up returning mine to Costco at the end of the 90 day window since it just had a few too many empty promises. And the rebadging of the X900H and calling it a "new" 2021 model with the older X1 processor irked me.

I ended up purchasing an open box brand new Sony 77" A80CJ OLED as a replacement. I thought I would regret downsizing from the 85" since it is about 20% more screen real estate. But to honest I haven't really noticed much of a difference. And my wife actually likes the smaller size more in the living room space.

I will say the Costco return process was great and they picked it up (since I purchased online and had it delivered) without a hassle. The original box was destroyed by rain pooling but that was not an issue. Note: if you purchase in-store and pick up I believe you then need to return it back to the store yourself for return. Which would be brutal with this monster!
