I bought this from Costco in November. Have been using it extensively since then. 70% movies/streaming apps, 30% NHL hockey games through Xfinity cable box. I use a Roku Ultra for all my apps; I never bother with TV apps as I generally find them inferior to anything Roku dishes out.

I was debating between this and a 77' OLED. I am glad I went with this TV. But I have a massive wall with plenty of space; honestly 85'' is still too small for my taste. It will buy me a few years until 100'' OLEDs are reasonable.

My thoughts on the TV: it depends on the quality of content you feed it. 4k whether streaming or UHD discs is amazing. I am incredibly pleased. Movies kick ass; picture quality is amazing. 1080p content is only OK. I don't think the upscaling is amazing. Broadcast TV is average, about the same as the 6-year old Samsung it replaced. I sit about 9.5 feet away, so maybe that's a function of larger TV and viewing distance. If you do a lot of broadcast TV you may find better; so many networks still broadcast in 720p (and even 1080) but I feel like the TV doesn't upscale that well.

If you mainly watch 4k content I think you will be incredibly pleased with the picture.

People on here and AVSforum will say this is the 900h and 900h has nothing but problems. The problems you read about are "blurry 4k/120hz". Do you plan to use it as PC monitor or next gen gaming console? If yes, you may care about that. If no, then it literally doesn't matter and you can ignore the noise. A few people make a lot of noise.

I have had exactly ZERO issues with eARC, 4k and Dolby Vision are amazing.

The Samsung QN90 is for sure a better TV with better picture quality. The QN85 may be as well. However the QN90 is significantly more expensive and Samsung's don't do Dolby Vision.

Consider your use case. If you want the best picture, get OLED. If you want a super bright LED and don't care about Dolby Vision or cost, get the QN90a, if you want a good value which thrives with good 4k content and don't care about PC monitor/next gen gaming, consider this TV.

Just replying because there are clearly a few haters/self described experts dropping harsh opinions on this TV.

1- It's massive. I came from a 75" and it's incredible how much larger the footprint is

2- Gaming feels flawless and beautiful

3- 4K content is absolutely beautiful. There's a scene near the beginning of Finding Demo when Marlin gets knocked out and the screen goes black. It goes really really black on this TV.

4- I've done absolutely no tweaks and I am really enjoying the TV

5- I also own a 65" Sony x950G and this one is just as beautiful as that one

I am NOT an expert. But I am looking for value. Meaning. I want a nice TV at this size without breaking the bank. At this price point and size I don't think there is a better option out there.

Also. I bought the Sanus Simplicity full motion mount from Costco to hang. Boxed well with each step packed separately. Website to go to that allows you to perfect where you want to hang and give you exact measurements. And after not initially understanding the hook where the TV hangs on the bracelet- once I figured that out to get it flush from left to right it's perfect and stable and I love that a TV this size can come out from the wall and be turned and tilt so easily. Highly recommend.

Thanks for sharing the deal. If you have purchased this TV with the previous Costco deal at $2199. Ask for a price adjustment ASAP, you only have 30 days to do it. I purchased my on 02/03 so I should get it hopefully
you would, jus request Costco customer service to make one time exception, they will check with manager and will honor the price adjustment. I did the same and got the $200 refund.

That makes a big difference in my state, MN - it's an extra 150 if I'm charged tax - definitely moves the needle to a reseller than won't charge me sales tax

I have been checking and I was able to order one a few hours ago from their website. The Costco app still shows out of stock. I was debating on the LG C1 77" OLED. I hoped it would have a nice price drop but the Sony checks all the boxes for $900 less (and my fear burn in of the TV being left on something static like an Xbox game ). Good deal overall.

What is a good TV stand for this beauty? I don't want to mount this on a wall.

Yeah I will go to the store to compare this with the A80j. Is it worth the $1k additional for the OLED and losing the 10 inches? Can't decide!

In the store the Samsung neo85 looked much more pleasing than this.
Samsung is too cheap to pay Dolby Vision royalties. DV is essentially the defacto standard now that no Samsung TV's support so they are automatically out of my playbook. It sucks, otherwise I would have had an 85 inch TV already from them.

the QN85 isnt completely off the table for me. I am also disappointed they dont support DV and DTS earc. I'd just have to wire my junk a little differently and juggle an extra remote. So much for automation. Price is also a big factor. However at almost a 1000 more dollars, its really really hard to justify the qn85

my dilemma too. I am a casual gamer and mainly use my TV on DirectTV.

I really like the QN85A, but a lot of people say X90J/X91J are better value.

Received and used it over the weekend. No complaints thus car. Briefly looked at Xbox game (Valhalla) and played couple of 4K movies. So far I will keep it.

Installed in a bright room.

Saw both the Sony 83 OLED and this unit side by side at store. For sure the 83OLED looked better... but since I don't have both sitting side by side at home, the picture quality was good enough for the price!
