The new Mac mini may be launched at an event in the spring possibly at Apple's spring event, rumored to be next Tuesday, 3/8/22.
Amazon is offering a 7% discount on landing page and an extra $80 off during checkout
Though its possible apple will release new mac mini next week, there is a decent discount on (current) latest generation of mac mini. Upgrade is not confirmed, so they may not be one.
If needed, you could ultimately return purchased unit and buy new one.
