Great price on the Oasis and a unit that has hard page turn buttons.
Note it isn't the current model that has adjustable warm light which I believe Amazon refers to it as 2019 or 10th gen.

You might get the 2018 Oasis that I traded in for a new Paperwhite. It's a nice piece of hardware but at this price would new choose the new Paperwhite over it any day of the week.

I think its time to upgrade my 2014 kindle. The backlight is the only reason to upgrade otherwise 2014 model still rocks.

Anyone know if either of the models for $35.99 (e.g. the 10th gen Kindle or the 2015 Paperwhite) can handle graphic novels or cookbooks (I'm assuming these are either AZW3 or KF8 files)?

I bought a very old Kindle off eBay--like a 4th gen from 2011 with nav buttons--for the sole purpose of getting my Kindle books into physical AZW files that I could then decrypt with Calibre. However, Amazon detects that the model is so old that it can't handle the rich graphical files, so it won't let me download any of my purchased comics and cookbooks.

I got this same deal a few weeks back (was also from Woot).

I purchased the 8gb 2019 with ads, and was pleased to receive a unit that in fact does not have ads

edit: also, was in great shape with only minor scratches on the bezel near the charging port

I upgraded to the new paperwhite, and then returned it. the backlight is nice, but over all not an improvement over my old kindle, and the pricing of the new ones is ridonculous.

I always forget which model I currently have when I see these deals and have to look it up (had to do it again, I always get confused between the Oasis and the Voyage).

Because if they ever have a cheapish "Voyage" I'm tempted to buy another as backup. The tactile page turns on the bezel make this the best affordable model IMHO.

You don't want a Kindle e-reader for those uses. Isn't that what tablets are for?
