With that said, they make the 6xx sound exciting and that's hard to do. These are extremely neutral. They're a bit harsh on the top end for me but they're still great. I used them as my main set until I got Focal Clears. Now I use them with my PS5.
Edit: As for open vs closed back, open back is better for gaming. Much wider soundstage, less overpowering bass usually. Better for footsteps, vocals, etc. However sound leakage is a consideration. It's not enough to transmit through a mic(I've tested dynamic and condenser) but it is noticeable to others in a room with you.
Also the replacement cable, should you ever need one, is $10 on amazon. That isn't expensive, and the stock ones are durable as hell from my experience.

I normally game on my Vizio M51 for surround in most PC /PS4 games except for RTS games which I play on my desktop to my Kilpsch 2.1 Pro Media THX
Suffice it to say I'm not a heavy headphone user unless people around me need me to be quiet. I don't like things on me ear or inside my ear lol so even with my earbuds i only wear one at a time most times.
I am no audiophile but I appreciate decent sound. Any recommendations? I had a HD 555 in the past and honestly wasn't impressed by any of it. And I found it annoying everyone could hear everything. Though that was a concern mainly wearing it in public. Which I won't be using the new headphone for so I think I'll be fine with open cans again.

There are alot of little issues with the HD560s that make it far from the best headphone
One I forgot to mention is the twist lock cable
On HD58x/H6XX if the headphones become tangled / trip / snag - the connectors will come loose from either ear cup.
On this HD560s the cable will snag and either damage the input hole or destroy the cable.
Another problem (or could be a pro) is that the cable is 10 ft long instead of the 6 ft long cable found on the aforementioned models.
Sennheiser does NOT sell a shorter cable and the shorter cable available online (Amazon/other stores) is not the same impedance and destroy the sound signature changing the sound significantly

And yeah the Scarlett 2i2 is starting to show it's age, planning to start looking into a similar mic/headphone "DAC/amp" that should be able to handle at least HD600 if not better headphones without needing to buy an additional amp as well.

Thanks in advance.

For hip-hop in the budgeted range I would suggest the Phillips Fidelio X2HR or the Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro. For a jack of all trades for those genres you might think about the Hifiman Sundara. They'd be great for rock and good for Motown and hip hop. It just wouldn't have a deep hitting bass of the the two hip hop headphones I suggested or the sultry smooth sounds of the HD6xx but they're a great set of headphones.
