Just a heads up---- There is typically a plastic smell while first using the air fryer but that eventually goes away. I washed my unit down, inside and out on all accessible areas, with hot soapy water on a dish rag and also ran the basket & crisper tray in the dishwasher. Then ran the unit on 400* for 20 min in my garage a few times to burn off any remaining "protective coating" from their manufacturing process which causes the smell. It's been a great air fryer since that issue was resolved.

Bear with me, I don't really use exact amounts.

Brush your wings with whatever oil you have available, add garlic powder, salt/pepper, and cajun seasoning, or just paprika if you don't have cajun.

I cook 'em for around 16-18 minutes flipping halfway and then toss them in a sauce made from old bay hot sauce mixed with a little honey or maple syrup and Worcestershire sauce plus I saute onions separately and add them on.

you can also add something like ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side if you want something creamy for dipping.

Wish they would bring back the old model which was 7qt GAF778. That one has a larger cooking area than this one. I know both are 7qt BUT if you know anything about using air fryers you dont wanna stack your food, you want it all spread out. This new model uses less counter space but is much smaller inside

Debating btw this and Ninja 5 in 1. Sure Ninja is 3X as expensive on a good day. But it goes up to 500F. And looks so versatile.

I've bought this Airfryer for $40 last time it was on sale to replace my $100 6QT Insta Pot airfryer. And yes, the first 3-4 uses it smelled like plastic (which it does state in the manual that it will), but now it is perfect. 10 times more quiet than my previous more expensive airfryer and has just as many features. This is a steal if you need one, plus it from Costco, you can't beat that.

Bought one during the last time it was on sale, as others have mentioned first few uses smell a lil funny. it goes away, so no worries there, however, my particular model, while it still works, for whatever reason now the fan inside sounds a little lopsided when turning it on from a cold state. it creates this little jalopy sound that gets faster and faster, until it heats up completely. once it's completely heated, it goes away. almost like there's some bit in the fan mechanism inside that warps out of sorts when it's cooled, and warps back into a working state once it's hot enough. strangest thing, but it hasn't actually stopped working to make me want to exchange it.

just something to look out for.

Gourmia's user manual states the protective coating during manufacturing is what gives off the burning plastic smell. A lot of other brand air fryers have the same exact issue so it's not exclusive to only this manufacturer.

Why it was tagged expired? I still saw it at this price yesterday.
Gourmia brand seems reliable. I have a Gourmia airfryer and induction cooktop. Both working well after 3 years of frequent use.

It's not "officially" expired. $40 in-store price good through April 3rd, as per Costco's flyer. Who ever edited my original post left out the sale dates I posted.

Got one and the basket is very hard to open and close. I have to hold the unit and yank the basket pretty hard. Anyone else observe the same or did I get a defective one. I noticed the plastic bottom that the basket slides on top of is not flat. It is higher in the middle. They did not have a demo unit for me to compare.

The basket snaps into the case, that's normal, but there's not suppose to be a bow in the base of the case. Exchange it for another one.
