Bought it from GameStop. Screw bezos
Looks like this is part of a digital sale. I bought this as well as Mario Bros 3d world in conjunction with Amazon's 10% off $50 eShop cards.

$50 Nintendo eShop Gift Card https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1VX...B529XMM2GZ

Then used Amazon credit card to get 5% back

I like physical copies. You can lend them out, borrow them, sell them, collect them, and it doesn't matter who's account is using it. With these switch games it seems like you can find a better deal on physical too.

The reason I buy digital... I can carry all my games at all times. If the switch eShop goes away, I should still have my copies downloaded. If the switch breaks and the eShop is closed, I would bet by then the switch would be super hacked, and I could recompile my library.

Excuse me; I have to see a man about a Wii U.

There's a bunch of upcoming paid DLC getting released in waves. I own this on the Wii U but will probably buy again on Switch for the DLC. https://www.nintendolife.com/guid...t-8-tracks

In for one, this doesn't go on sale much, especially the digital copy.

The issue that's beginning to surface is DLCs, added content and of course patches to games that's already been released physically. You don't have the full game on that card when it's all said and done. Take this game here. 48 new tracks will added soon. That's almost half the game. 😂

Interesting Mario kart 8 DLC, 48 tracks, 6 separate releases from March 2022 till end of 2023. For each release it'll be $24.99 for 8 tracks. Probably worth it if you love the game and people will buy it regardless but pretty pricey if you intend to buy every release.

Ain't going to happen while people continue foolishly forking over near top dollar for the port of Mario Kart 8. No reason for Nintendo to innovate if ports are making tons of money.

By the time that happens not enough people are going to care and Nintendo will force you to buy it again for whatever new console there is. I didn't see many people up in arms about the Wii shop closing down years ago.

Diddy Kong Racing was made by Rare and included Rare owned characters. Microsoft owns Rare. We might see it on N64 Online, but a new one isn't going to happen. It doesn't have the name brand Mario Kart does, it wouldn't sell nearly as well as Mario Kart, and they don't have to pay Microsoft.

For the record I'd like to see it, but I'm guessing the next Mario Kart has a much better chance going the Smash Brothers route with more Nintendo IP's involved. With the DLC coming over the next 2 years whatever the next installment is won't likely hit until 2024.

To clarify it's $25 for all packs (48 total tracks), not $25 for each set of 8 tracks. If it were the latter that would cost $150 which is insane.

And if you have the expansion pass for Nintendo online you get them for "free" with your membership.

My local GameStop (VA 20171) had Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $34.99. Had a $5 certificate as well so it came down to $31.78 incl tax. Sweet!

Do you know if you need to have the expansion pass active to continue playing those new tracks/expansion pass?
