Your calculation is right, but your interpretation is off. The result means how many gig can be bought per dollar, clearly your dollar buys more gig for 6TB one.

To calculate the cost per TB, use

$75/4 tb = $18.75/tb
$110/6 tb = $18.33/tb

This was kind of my POV on this. It's $5-7 a drive, while not insignificant (I got 4), it's not going to break the bank either, especially since I am planning on changing out my drives.

It's also why I didn't care that much about the 4tb vs 6tb costs, it's pretty negligible in terms of price per TB (like ~40¢).

If price per TB is not a concern, then you should go for the highest density one because the bay is limited inside your NAS after all.

I setup a NAS last year with 8TB drives that still had 2 free spots so I pretty much need the 8TB and it's about $30-40 cheaper for each than when I bought the ones I already have in it. It's a good deal for me.
