I have hearing loss in my right ear and with these I can actually hear in stereo for once. It's pretty great.
It really depends what kind of loss you have. I suffer from 75% hearing loss on my left side from a cholesteatoma that went undetected for too long and basically swallowed most of the bone. I had to have it surgically removed, and due to the damage, reconstructive surgery has failed multiple times. So I have what's considered conductive loss. I test drove a bone anchored hearing aid, which does similar to what the Aftershokz do, but it required surgery and I just didn't to go through with another surgery and recovery.

So basically if you have conductive loss, these will probably work great. If you have nerve loss (either from age, listening to high volumes too long, etc) they may not be as effective.
Commented on the other Aftershox deal. These things are awesome. You sacrifice music sound quality for safety and surround awareness. They are perfect for voice audio and totally acceptable for music when you really need to hear what's going on around you. My Sony earbuds are my daily drivers when I run in my neighborhood, but I always go with my Aftershox for road-trip audiobook listening and running outside my neighborhood. Highly recommend.

This remind me the old time earphones base on sound. There is not much detail in the sound. However, I will keep it as an alternative when I need wear a headphone for a long time.

How do they fit with your helmet's rear brace and straps?

Bone conduction? Usually you pay double for that kind of action, Cotton.

My ENT mentioned the Medels last time I saw him. They were just getting on the market so I didn't get a chance to give them a test drive yet. But thanks for the reminder to discuss with him at my next appointment!
Do these give any kind of long term nerve damage or any downside on using them? Sudden hearing loss 100% made to give up listening over ears years ago and fan of speakers, but wanted to have a set for just feel it during calls. Just dont want to have any more damages.

I don't know if using bone conduction devices will accelerate nerve damage. But think of the purpose of a traditional hearing aid: to amplify sound to compensate for nerve loss.

As I mentioned above, I have conductive loss, and I can definitely hear better on the damaged side while wearing these due to the bone conduction.

I have three pairs of Aftershokz (two Air and one Aeromexico) that I use for 4+ hours a day so at least one is always ready to go. They're so comfortable I often forget I'm wearing them if I pause my podcast and I'm not an audiophile so the sound is plenty good enough for me. I love being able to have headphones on and still hear my surroundings when I'm outside.

Sorry to hear this. I had the same issue but reconstructive surgery was able to bring back 85% of hearing, after the surgery my left year opening is half size bigger than my right so normal size ear buds wont stay in place, may be this helps

You are talking about active noise canceling (blocking out external sound to your ears) right? Or are you meaning noise reduction for the microphone?
I'm talking about active noise canceling.

I LOVE MY AfterShokz! The Bone Conduction means they don't go in my ears. They are so comfy, I forget I'm wearing them. They fit my big giant melon head too...
This happens to me a lot. I forget I even have them on.
