If you like recurring costs that option might appeal to you.

Also, if you are buying this to store a handgun, then you might have to tell the intruder to wait for you while you drive out to local UPS store to pick up your gun.

To be those looking to "harden the target" from smash-and-grab break in, or keep little hands from grabbing grown-up stuff, you're doing the right thing.

Yes, there's better products out there for more money. Even if it's "just for now" and you secure this properly to a wall/floor/whatever, it's better than nothing. For me it'll be a secondary safe for my wife's jewelry when we head out, because all the guns, cash, nice jewelry, watches and paperwork are in the Bighorn elsewhere.

To those complaining about fire/water proofing... Just stop. First, it's $50. Second, even "fireproof" security containers (which is what most of us have, technically) are good for an hour, tops, and the temps will get so high inside most that paper will combust, ammo will probably cook off and plastics will melt. Have umbrella coverage or extra riders for anything in there on your insurance, your residential security container will not save everything inside it pristine. Sorry.

Paperwork, jewelry, pistol, etc. Be sure to secure it to the floor, wall, or other sturdy surface so that it can't be easily picked up and carried away.

American security safe is the best quality. They're expensive but you can find some fairly used ones for cheap. They last forever.

Bought this last week and so far so good. You can add like 65 fingerprints so I just added a bunch of variations of my fingers. It's worked every time so far.
