This seems like this should be like $5, not $20. It turns on/off your tv, turns up/down the volume and changes your inputs. That's more or less all of it's features.

Are there TVs not having those functions? Dont get the point of this thing.

This adds voice controls to your TV.
Basically makes your dumb/traditional tv "smart" by having an Alexa enabled IR blaster.

Requires Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen and later) with Alexa Voice Remote, Fire TV Stick 4K, or Fire TV (3rd Gen) and any Echo smart speaker or smart display.
'Alexa, turn on the TV.' — Fire TV Blaster lets you use your voice to easily turn your TV on or off—even from across the room.
'Alexa, turn up volume on soundbar.' — Turn up the volume or mute your compatible TV or soundbar.
'Alexa, switch to HDMI1.' — Get to your content faster by using your voice to switch between HDMI inputs on your compatible TVs. You can also easily switch to cable or satellite—just say, 'Alexa, switch to cable/satellite.'

Personally think it's way faster to just grab a remote, but I can imagine some people loving this.

So basically.... Think of this as a voice activated universal remote.

When I first got my lg TV, alexa could turn it on and off as well as change the volume. Now, that has been disabled to make us buy another device. SMH
No you have to go set the command in the Alexa app . My old 2017 Vizio allows for turn on and off from Alexa.

This is useless for most people who have smart tvs. Alexa can already control all but 2 of my super old 1080p tvs. These tvs aren't important enough for me to waste the time.

Honestly I hate that Amazon wasted their R&D money developing this thing. I don't think the demand is there for this.

Got this for my parents. Was frustrating to set up but now they just need one remote and this blaster.

This works great when using a Fire TV Recast for watching local TV stations. I can go directly from say channel 3.2 to channel 45.3 just by saying "Change channel to 45 point 3 on fire tv".
With the remote I would have to scroll through all the stations from 3.2 to 45.3 just to get there.
My senior parents love it - makes changing channels a breeze versus all the button pushing on the remote.
