This is a good deal. I got it last year and it's worked out great.
Something's to keep in mind:
As others have said, this is the lite version so it doesn't have voice control but to me that's irrelevant because the unit is in the back hallway so I have no intentions to yell at it across the house. You can control it remotely via the app so no big deal.
It includes only one temperature sensor. The 2 pack of sensors cost $80 and are hard to find and I haven't seen them go on sale since I've owned the unit. I have the sensor in the main bedroom and disabled the sensor in the unit since that is in the back hallway which stays cooler than the rest of the house. The thermostat averages the temps of all the sensors to decide when to turn the ac on. I never unpacked the other sensors since they are of no use to me.
if you're the type of person that fixates on and stresses out about data, up you should probably not get this. Lol. When I first got it, I'd constantly check how often the AC was coming on. I've mellowed out since then. The metrics are pretty informative.
This is the ecobee lite (model EB-STATE3LTVP2-01). This has been $20 cheaper several times prior.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'm ordered it and am now I'm not sure if it is worth getting over the more expensive model. I don't need Alexa or Siri features but I read somewhere that only the more expensive SmartThermostat has geofencing, which is a feature I want. Any idea if paying extra is worth the cost?

It depends on how important geofencing will be to you. If your schedule is pretty regular and consistent then you can set up a schedule that will allow your HVAC system to not run when you're away from home and to cool things down before you return.
