damn. came here to tell people to never wear a $20 helmet... but that blitz helmet is almost perfect to keep me legal in my caged rzr. i need open face though.
people talking about cheap helmets...they're all held to regulations and standard, so if they pass a standard, it's fine. there's a lot of marketing and fluff in the helmet business and there's a lot of margin to make on ones with sleeker designs and premium materials. i wouldn't knock a brand just because they're not expensive.

Agreed. These appear to be DOT and FMVSS 218 approved which are required/recommended by the DOT. Maybe not fancy but they meet the standards required.
My kid is 2.5years old and the 3+ bike helmets don't fit. 5+ bike helmets fit her.
What size helmet for a kid under 5?
I'm not using these for riding motorcycle. My kid tends to mess with mine so if I give her her own, maybe she'll leave mine alone.
hopefully these links stick...
Child Motorcycle Helmet Size Chart | Everything You Need To Know (helmetshops.com)
Helmet Size Chart | Know The Perfect Size For You (helmetshops.com)
Chart says average for 2.5-3yo boy is 49cm. 2nd link shows XS helmets are good for 53-54cm (circumferences). I got an XS for my boy who's about to turn 4. DOT approved can be used for autocrossing, hopefully he'll join me one day for that (in a car)
EDIT: SCCA required SNELL rating (or ECE or FIA), so DOT only approved is not sufficient.. trying to see if I can cancel my order...
UPDATE: They cancelled my order. Nice people

Why is everyone down voting people who call out that putting your head in a $20 helmet is a horrible idea? It is! As stated above these are for costumes only. Anyone who thinks that just because it's DOT approved it's enough is completely wrong. If you're going to limit your eyesight by wearing a helmet... Make sure it actually protects you. Do not buy these for safety purposes. Wow.

People that are saying get what you pay for don't understand the purpose of a sick deal. If you have data that shows this is not a quality or comfortable helmet I'm interested in hearing it. But simply saying it's inexpensive and not good quality is lame. This is the reason we don't get many motorcycle posts.
