I have this with the Garmin Panoptix livescope. I would say this is about the minimum size to get to use the livescope system when you're out on the water with sun and glare and such. With that said, it's an excellent unit, but it does go on sale around this price every now and again. This one comes with the GT54 transducer, there is a combo for the better gt56 transducer but I don't think it would be at this price point, maybe a bill higher.
However, since getting my boat and the livescope system, I have not caught a single crappie! I must be the worst fisherman alive.
They also have the 94 model (comes with the coastal maps instead of lakes) for $100 more. Although I heard the GT-54 isn't the best for salt water. And that probably need the GT-56 or a different transducer for the salt and depths over 200' as the 54 is only 350watts and the 56 is 500w.
However, I'm still learning and trying to figure out what I need. All I know for sure is my lowrance sucks

Exactly the 94 is for saltwater 93 is for those of us on the lakes. This is a great deal and agree that the 93 is the minimum size for anything for folks 50 and over who can't see shit anyway. Santa Claus was fortunate enough to bring me one of these and a live scope to compliment my existing 93. I did have to wait almost a year to get a price equivalent to this. You certain cash back and you might even get up to 15% off at least I did when I purchased mine...

And if any of us wasn't paying attention they were selling the 103 that was available for the same price for only a day or so which would have avoided the need to spend another $250 to buy a hub so that I could use my live scope on both systems due to the number of ports available...

Expensive poop into the other gentleman's point I'm sure I still won't catch shit but at least I know where to throw the damn thing and not waste my time

What I found from using a hook2 and now a 73sv (on a kayak) is that you don't really see fish (rivers/lakes) but things that could be fish. Also, the depth and possible areas to avoid. Being able to see those allows you target areas that fish may be in. Does it help generally, yes. Does it help catch fish? Yes.

It does NOT include the livescope system but is compatible.
