I work for Avis, code is valid for BAYPHARM CORP. employees only.
However, anyone can use them and most counter staffs don't care. Unless it's a manager checking you in, then they might ask for validation. The reason is because even without accidents, we periodically bill BAYPHARM CORP. for wear and tear and other miscellaneous charges, if they refuse to pay due to "fraud", you better believe we're gonna get those funds from you.

So why would they need to check your insurance? I think the problem really is just that car rental industry is so poorly regulated. There are stringent regulations for banks, for airlines, etc. but who regulates car rental companies? No one but your state's consumer complaint dept.
I'm always just confused as to what this actually means for people who don't own a car (e.g., Manhattan people). Your credit card with collision covers you for your own car, and car rental companies are suppose to cover you up to the state minimum liability (which is what they are trying to slyly say but not say on that website). But if something actuall does happens, then what.
Many rental agencies are either franchise or pay is based on "sales" of addons. So what their site says and what you're told/allowed at the pickup sometimes do not match.
That and if they are low on cars they will just cancel or drag it out while you get mad and wait for hours.
Last time I rented I paid more to get a car from a place that had at least average+ reviews.
These should go away buttis one i do not care about as i have a better one.

If you are going to use a corporate AWD, at these use one that provides real savings. This code just tripled my week rental from $250 to $750.
