Is being able to return the free gift from an Apple promo for a refund common policy or did you just get an exception/lucky? Did they credit the refund back to your original form of payment or just do a store credit? Thanks
I doubt it's standard policy but the free AirPods registered as a separate transaction with its own full price receipt and that cost was deducted from the price of the iMac. It was surprising as I had planned to sell the AirPods but when I saw that I just brought them to a store with the receipt and got a refund to my credit card.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind for the future. Repped!

Can I use these to buy AppleCare+?
These can be used to buy anything that Apple sells so you should be able to. You can always call ahead to confirm.

P.S. If you are going to make an in-store purchase, don't load them on to your Apple account. Last time I checked (Oct 2021), Apple couldn't process gift cards already loaded to your Apple balance as payment when checking out in a store. They are able to process the balances from the gift cards themselves though.

You might as well say "Apple can go bankrupt tomorrow morning and these cards would be worth nothing"

I haven't jumped on these deals in a while, but it used to say one card per person, but it ended up "per transaction" so I was able to buy 10 separate cards as 10 transactions and I got all the target cards. Does it still work that way or is it truly limited to 1 per guest and then any additional cards ordered don't have the free $10 target card (this is in reference to online orders)?

It varies STRONGLY - I know several people can still do multiple transactions and get everything, but for the last few sales I've been able to make ONE online purchase for this over the course of the week, period. But I'd also gone through SEVERAL previous sales where they let me purchase something like over a thousand dollars worth of cards over the course of each week, so this might just be Target saying "you've had your fun, now you're done."

Long story short, YMMV. You might be able to make multiple transactions, or Target might really enforce the "one per person, period" thing. (On the flip side, doesn't hurt to try and try again!)

Somebody steals others' credit card, or bought unauthorized gift cards, get banned and now is crying lol.

I'm thinking about buying 17 of these to use to order a Studio Display but I'm worried that Apple will somehow prevent me from using them all. This would save me about $250 after tax.

Perfect timing. With tax season coming up, I'm sure that those IRS agents will be calling back requesting payment in Apple gift cards again.

For those worried, don't be. I regularly top off my account at the $2000 max with these discounted cards. Apple accepts it for everything just like a credit card. You can buy hardware, warranty, software, media, subscriptions, promos, sale items… Whatever Apple sells.

Buying these gift cards from Target with a Red Card has been the best deal lately. How many cards they allow to be purchased per promotion seems random. Last time, I luckily got 7 while others were restricted to 1.

More cards can be bought in store but there have been reports of those cards not working and being difficult to return because they appear to have been used. Personally, I avoid that potential headache and only buy online because these deals come fairly often.

You'll be fine. Only restriction would be if you're using gc balance to partially fund your purchase you can't pay the balance using PayPal / Apple Pay (i.e. have to supply a card)

Was able to get 10 during the last sale but ordered online in 10 separate transactions, back to back. I went back the next day trying to get one more and was denied.

Also this may be known but was news to me- the apple site only allows 8 giftcards to be used when checking out so if using more, add the cards to your apple account balance and proceed with the purchase.
