I think one big value of this device is that it has a HDMI in, so it can be used as a decent second portable monitor. 13" 2k screen with 400 nits brightness is probably a better price than you can get for just a portable monitor honestly

No one talking about this - but it's a great deal. I have been eyeing this device for a while - mainly for media consumption. Some will complain about he 60hz refresh. But otherwise solid specs. In for one.

Can't trust Moto/Lenovo with updates. Only Google, Samsung and Apple are reliable

Yup, reason I bought. There's another expired deal thread for this but it's probably still on eBay for 400.

Good tablet no complaints, bought it for the HDMI in
But I was thinking that same thought when I saw the deal thread for the iPad air today, that maybe I should have paid a little more. But yeah, wanted the HDMI in so I'm not gonna return it

Only had the tablet for 2ndays so far though

It is a great deal; however, with the introduction of the new iPad Air with the crazy fast M1 chip, at around $560 on sale (extra $170) the Apple device might be a better choice.
It doesn't matter how fast a tablet/laptop is, the next gen gadget will always be better. However, you still can use this tablet as portable screen for laptop / gaming console for travel. I'm not sure if it would be touchscreen second screen tho. If it is, that would be nice.

got this fr ebay for 400 last saturday i would not recomend screen is not as large as you think that stand in the back screams hinge issues in the future and the lack of updates to new andriod 13 and later means this is not future proof

It loses the touchscreen functionality when you use the HDMI in mode. It lets you adjust brightness volume and aspect ratio in that mode

The tablet is very good for media consumption with large screen and decent quad speakers. The portable monitor feature is fairly unique to it.

The built-in stand has many use cases but also made it a little bulky. To game on it a bluetooth controller might be preferred. (It has no option for keyboard attachment either and can only rely on wireless keyboards.)

A competitor worth mentioning is Samsung's Galaxy Tab S7 FE with similar screen size (12.4" vs Lenovo 13"), more lightweight build (608g vs 830g) but slightly less processor power (Snapdragon 778G vs 870) and dual speakers only.

Update: Samsung S7 lineup is on sale with EDU/EPP discount (https://slickdeals.net/f/15666280-samsung-galaxy-tab-s7-128-gb-wifi-11inch-for-389-99-with-edu-epp-discount).

To use it as touchscreen monitor for Windows it requires software solutions like Moonlight (+ Sunshine), Parsec, Steam Link or Spacedesk. Each has pros and cons.

The touchscreen doesn't work in monitor mode except to control brightness and volume.

So Lenovo no longer adds SD card slots for their newer tablets? What did they run out of space?
