I logged into my Verizon FiOS account (via iOS app) and much to my surprise received an offer for an upgrade to 300/300 from 200/200 for the same monthly price of $39.99 and no change in terms (no contract with autopay). I am based in PA, US. The only hardline competition locally for me is Comcast Xfinity with some coverage for T-Mobile 5G broadband (which may be influencing the offer).

I did not receive a mailer either physically or electronically. This simply came up as an option when I clicked on Internet—>Upgrade my speed. Granted I had already been receiving speeds above 200/200 prior to the upgrade, but this formalizes it.

Autopay via bank account or debit card is required, at least for my account.

I guess they just renamed it. Last year when I took the 200/200 mbps plan the Verizon installation person had told me that though the plan says 200/200, the actual speed given is 300/300 mbps. So it's basically the same. They have finally just changed the 200 to 300

You might also see gigabit internet for $69.99. I've been with Fios since Sept 2020 and I was able to get that special pricing.

Worked for me too. We were getting about 300/300 on our 200 plan previously (over-provisioned?), this sort of makes it official.

Just so people know: this is only a marketing change. 200Mpbs was always provisioned as 300Mbps. They are the same. Not sure why it took Verizon so long to align the marketing, but now they have.

Probably to trick more people into paying for the higher bandwidth plans.

According to reddit/DSL, the 200mbps plan has always been overprovisioned to offer 300mbps speed (I can verify it is the case for my service), but the 300mpbs service is just going to give you the right speed in name but no overprovision (so your speed won't change, just the plan now correctly reflects the speed. I can also verify this from my experience.

Same here. I have 200/200, but my speeds have always been 300/300.

What do you prefer to use for speed tests? I recently found that the test built into my Orbi shows significantly greater speed results than via the Ookla Speedtest even though they're both branded as the same test, which is kind of interesting.

Yes I was told the same thing when I switched to Fios 2 years ago that the 200/200 plan is really provisioned 300/300.
That said, trying to switch my account to the 300/300 plan to properly reflect what I'm actually getting, AND I DONT SEE A WAY TO DE-SELECT DISNEY which they seem to be adding on for another $7.99. Anyone else figure this out?

300/300 not available for me, but lately I've getting 280/320 every time I do a speed test and this is on WiFi as well. Eero gateway says it's getting 305/345.

Well I just chatted with support and they upgraded me without adding Disney. That said, I knew from day one that this was always a 300 provisioned plan. Running Speedtest inside my router's setting webpage, I would in the past get as high as 280/295. Just now I got 260/220, and this is almost surely before any change to my account was processed as I just finished chatting the rep a few min ago.
