This is not a safe toy. My cat got the ends of it off exposing only the hook without us knowing and he hooked his eye. Several stitches and thousands of dollars in vet visits later we unfortunately learned a valuable lesson that I hope to share with everyone about this toy. Please! Be VERY aware of the condition of this toy before and while your cat is playing with it.
