Tried two different stores and it didn't work for me

I was able to get it to work by creating a new instacart account and linking the paypal account that I never used before.

Yes! your Promo will still be applied.
I only had this happen to me once.
But it was in the middle of the pandemic when basic pantry staples (e.g… rice) where not in-stock.
For that ONE order, the delivery person was able to checkout with an added item😑
A Grape juice bottle of 64oz 😑
That was super random, cause I didn't get over charged at all.
It could have been a human error, and you can always contact instacart when there is a error on your order 😬
Yet again if you choose the recommended "substitute item", then there is not mistake.
But yes, the promo will apply
