If you want something that has a lot of head room for gaming, productivity, and support, $150 more isn't that bad. But with only 64GB of base storage, if you're looking for gaming and productivity, you might want to bump up to 256GB. At that point you're in the iPad Pro price range. Looking at it from that perspective, saving the $150 and getting the 2020 model could make a lot of sense if it fits what someone needs.

We recently got an iPad with the new front camera and found it was a big downgrade optically. It's basically a fisheye lens that is software corrected for distortion, so a lot of detail is lost and skin is rendered in a waxy, unnatural appearance. Unless you move around a lot in video calls, the tracking is a gimmick. It's unfortunate there are no more new iPads with the old front lenses that are much sharper. The cynical side of me thinks it's just a cost-cutting move by Apple since the fisheye lens designs are cheaper to make.
