Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

If you don't care about 5G, the TMHS1 can be had dirt cheap. I got mine of eBay brand new for $15. The catch is you have to run a script to get it to not use the 10GB hotspot. The TMOHS1 is a much more reliable device than the inseegos. It turns on faster, better battery life, and it,s just better at just being a hotspot. But none of those juicy 5G speeds. 4G only
Thanks for the info! $15 is much more reasonable than $200+ ha! Now after your post I just went poking around in my old box of junk and found a Tmobile Franklin T9 hotspot they gave away for a free trial. Would that work? Or is it junk? I can't even remember how well it worked during the test drive it was so long ago. I don't mind going ahead and buying a TMOHS1 since they are so cheap. This Franklin hotspot has been barely used.

I don't need 5G. I use this to stream while I'm driving (iPad with Waze) and use Directv Stream for TV when I'm on the road in hotels. Their requirements are pretty low. Under 6Mb I think to get HD video. I would like Band 71 though as it's very important with Tmobile to penetrate buildings. At least for voice. Not sure about data only. Where I live, if you don't have Band 71, you're not getting phone calls with Tmobile. We're near a creek with limited cell towers for all providers.

Thanks again for the info! You definitely saved me some cash! Rep'd.

Not sure if you can get it online - but if only the tax excluded plan is available just get that and then you can likely find a rep to switch you over... that's what I did when this was first available... and I have the mobley plan as well - had 2 lines with that and cancelled 1 of them recently. might have to just cancel the other as well...
The $10 taxes/fees included is still there so I'll order that along with the cheap tablet. People on the Mobley plan were very worried for a while that AT&T would take it away. But they never did. Yet. (Now it's so bad I personally wouldn't care). But I will keep one Mobley line in case this Tmobile Unlimited Tablet line goes away. You just never know. I'd like to have at least one working data line.

I'm not sure if the T9 will work, but I'm pretty sure the device I have is the one that replaced it for the free test drive. So I believe you can get that one the same way if you don't want to spend any money.

If you're just using it to stream, you will get the exact same speeds whether you use 4g or 5g since streaming is throttled. You will definitely need the get HDVPASS0 feature added for HD streams. It's free, but it seems like it's a little tricky to get it added. I was able to using the chat feature on the tmobile business site (same site I bought the tablet plan). I thought it was fairly simple to add though.

Man, I was thinking I was so slick. Ordered 2 tablets/lines tax included online, chatted with them and got $70 activation fee waived hd pass added, had an m2100 on the way.

Called them again, this time about returning the tablets. First rep was quite clueless but she eventually sent me an RMA label. I looked at the RMA and it had no IMEI and listed 1 tablet and 1 sim kit instead of 2 tablets. I called back and this lady sounded like she knew what she was doing. After a long time of waiting she came back and said she emailed me the label. I looked at it and again, only one tablet was listed, no IMEI in the IMEI field. She said she could only generate one label for the order. I suspect it is because the first rep generated a return label as well, and there were only two tablets in the order. I asked her if I should use the old label for one tablet and the new label for the other, and she said no-- send them both back in same shipping box/label using new label. Of course I got notification from them this weekend that one of my EIPs has been fulfilled/voided, but nothing about the other one. Now I've got to wait 7 days while they investigate. hahahaha

Then I go to use my ebay m2100, and the guy sent a m2000 instead! We went back and forth and I agreed to keep it for a discounted price and figured I could keep it as a backup and use the battery / door from it on one of those battery/door-less m2100's on ebay, so I ordered one of those. I messed around with the m2000 for a while and learned (from y'all actually) that it doesn't work with this plan at all! Oops. Luckily he still agreed to take it back, but now I've got a battery-less m2100 on the way.

Just a little commiseration for those who wonder how come this crap works out for everyone else-- it's not so smooth for all of us.

The T9 may or may not work. You need to do a few things.

https://snt.sh/2020/09/rooting-th...less-r717/

1. Remove the SIM.
2. Check the firmware.
If the older firmware, you're good to:
--- Root the device
--- Change the self update to NO.
--- Update the TTL file to have 64 or 128
--- Go into the engineering and change for IMEI to match the tablet.

If the firmware is the latest, I think it is junk.

Search "T9" on this thread for more details, too.

Or just get a free hotspot. But the IMEI cannot be changed, so YMMV.
https://www.t-mobile.com/content/...modal.html

NOTE: my 4G/LTE hotspot data speed has been hit or miss surprisingly as these devices are TMo. Before with Visible SIM, I could see spotty coverage as the device was using Verizon towers. Now, I am surprised using the TMo SIM.
Example (same location):
TMOHS1 4G/LTE hotspot device (TMo plan): <5 mbps.
Hotspot enabled on 5G phone with Visible data plan: 40 mbps.

I ended up using my phone's hotspot for streaming. I will still use the hotspot device when the connection is good, but it has been spotty.

m2100 battery and door isn't that pricey.

Did a chat on T-Mo's business page (had to go to the devices shopping page for the chat box to pop up, it did not pop up when i logged into my business account page..) The rep was easy going and knew what I was asking and even asked if the SOC code, HDVPASS0 was the one I wanted.

When you say '$10 taxes/fees included is still there', do you mean the magenta plan? or is there another one? I only see the Magenta(without 'unlimited') and the Business unlimited excluding tax/fee. Thank you again!

TealMustang668I have tested this after my hotspot speed throttled to 600kbps. Works like charm.

Windows Instructions
1. Open Powershell (Search Powershell).
2. typeCode:python to check installed or not (If its not installed, windows will open app store download it, once the download is completed type python to make sure its installed).
3. Download the zip file from https://github.com/parker-stephen...s/main.zip [github.com] and unzip it.
4. go to unzipped location in powershell using cd.
5. install the requirements by executing command:Code:pip install -r requirements.txt 6. then run the bellow command follow the prompts.

exampleCode:C:\Users\\Downloads\TMOHS1-Root-Utility-main>python ./rootScript.py -v

I believe these are the instructions I followed. It wasn't too hard to figure out. Once it's set, it will continue to work even after a factory reset.

There are two plans listed:
  • Business Unlimited Tablet 10GB HS TE - $10.00/line Plus taxes and fees
  • Magenta Business Tablet 10GB Promo - $10.00/line
I understand the TE = Tax Exclusive = You have to pay taxes on top.

Should I pick the "Magenta Business Tablet 10GB Promo"? Are both unlimited data? I saw someone earlier saying the 10GB was just for 10GB and not unlimited.

I finally bailed on my Mobley line recently after many years. I just never used it anymore and when I did go to use it, it never worked that wonderfully anymore. Not really sure why...maybe just where I was all the time?

Anyone have the sim in an iPhone and do a migration to esim on a new iPhone yet? I can't seem to use the self service on the website to generate it but I wonder if that would work. I went halfway through with it and it looks like it may be okay.

Btw, those global iphones won't work for VZ esim, it just refuses the IMEI, but if I put the VZ sim card in it, my 14 pro max works fine, I wonder if I can get it whitelisted somehow (xfinity mobile).

I popped in the tmobile sim to test now that I am in the US again and I immediately got >600mbps, showed 5g UC on my 14 pro max global, so that is pretty cool.

They are the same plan except the Magenta doesn't charge taxes. It's $10 flat. The other one is $10 plus tax.

If you can get the T9 to work for you with the hack and all. It's best device in my opinion. You can change the IMEI and have it display as a tablet likely to TMO. Hotspot works without battery as well if you wanna use it constantly as a home internet replacement or such.
