The best thing about a Schwab brokerage account is that you can treat it like a second checking account. They give you an ATM card that carries no usage fees, no foreign transaction fees, and pays any fees you incur by using it at a non-Schwab ATM. I've had one for years to use when we travel. I'll do a free wire transfer from my regular BOA account for whatever amount I think I'll need, then hit up an ATM at the airport or wherever when we arrive in a foreign country in order to get some foreign currency. If I have too much left over after my trip, I'll just use the ATM card to buy groceries until I use up most of the balance. I generally leave a balance of around $25 in the Schwab account until time for the next trip.
Their site states "There are no fees to open and maintain a Schwab account." and "Online listed stock and ETF trades at Schwab are commission-free. Online options trades are $0.65 per contract."

Additionally, "If for any reason you're not completely satisfied, we'll refund your eligible fee or commission and work with you to make things right."

Then there would be no easy money rubes pouring money into Robinhood to fatten up the Wall Street pockets

They must be predicting a massive downturn and less people investing. That can be the only reason.

Downturns here, economy is good despite supply chain shortages tho. Where else you gonna curb inflation w/ this liquidity.

lol. Last year I bought only one stock of GME at ~$50 before it spiked.
In 2011 my coworker asked if I thought bitcoin was a good idea to invest in - I said no and that it was a scam lol.

When it comes to this "deal" is there anything to know for a newbie like hidden fees, etc? This is a stupid question but is this just like Robinhood where you pick which stocks you want to purchase?

Maybe you'll put 50k into a future winner and bag 5 million? Can't always win at first shot!

I don't like to take risks... Smilie (not really, why else do I spend so much time on Slickdeals?)

for me, I just wish that I listened to my grandpa 40 years ago and invested in gold...

(better yet, my geeky high school biology teacher who bought Apple stocks when people thought Apple was going to be out of business in a matter of months..... last I heard, he got really, really rich and moved to Hawaii)
