Can I borrow that when you're finished? I need to repair the bad parts of my life, that still affects life's good parts!

Wouldn't that be swell?

In 1977 my great aunt (God rest her kind soul) bought a small piece of gold for a necklace that said "1 US ounce". She paid just over $200. In 1979, is when gold jumped doubling the price to $450/Oz... we've gone up ever since, mostly.

Gold reached its peak real (inflation-adjusted) value in 1980, after which it crashed, dropping in value until 2001. It's recovered since then, though still somewhat short of its all-time-high.

Could not find any info on what the fees might be for this account. Shouldn't something like that be disclosed?

Since you have to be 18mYO to open an account, does anyone know if you can open an UGMA account for a minor under this offer?

Their site states "There are no fees to open and maintain a Schwab account." and "Online listed stock and ETF trades at Schwab are commission-free. Online options trades are $0.65 per contract."

Additionally, "If for any reason you're not completely satisfied, we'll refund your eligible fee or commission and work with you to make things right."

The best thing about a Schwab brokerage account is that you can treat it like a second checking account. They give you an ATM card that carries no usage fees, no foreign transaction fees, and pays any fees you incur by using it at a non-Schwab ATM. I've had one for years to use when we travel. I'll do a free wire transfer from my regular BOA account for whatever amount I think I'll need, then hit up an ATM at the airport or wherever when we arrive in a foreign country in order to get some foreign currency. If I have too much left over after my trip, I'll just use the ATM card to buy groceries until I use up most of the balance. I generally leave a balance of around $25 in the Schwab account until time for the next trip.

With the volatile stock market today, feels almost the same scheme as casinos handing out free tokens for people to gamble.
