I have been monitoring prices of Ryobi 7-1/4" circular saws for the past year or two and they do not often go on sale. Did not have much luck with Direct Tools Outlet either, so I think this is a decent deal. The listing says that it is $40 off, but I think the regular price at Home Depot is $129, not $139. I bought one a little over a month ago and used it to cut some 2x8s and 2x10s. It worked fine and it was my first experience with a circular saw. So if you have Ryobi tools, I'd recommend it. Keep in mind it's a bare tool, so does not include a battery.

Just as an FYI about this particular circular saw.... seems to have a design defect. The metal foot seems to contact the housing the end result being the blade cannot be adjusted to be perfectly square. Previous ryobi saws did not have this problem. The discrepancy probably won't even be noticed by the average user unless you bother to check square with a good carpenters/machinist's square.

Is this saw much better than what comes in the $200 package that is on here?

This saw is 7-1/4". The one that comes with the package is 5-1/2" (I think you can get the latter for under $50).

5 1/2" saw does not compare at all. I use it for demo only. 7 1/4" is a beast.

Amazon has price-matched, the model number has a B at the end on Amazon but as far as I can tell it is the same thing.

I would really love to own this as I'm invested in the Ryobi ecosystem, but why would the vacuum inlet port be blocked by the blade guard when in use!?? Makes no sense at all to even have the port on.

I have the non brushless 7 1/4 and the foot isn't parallel to the blade. Was considering upgrading to the brushless version but I'm worried it won't be straight either. There's no adjustment for the foot. I may have to shell out for a track saw because the plywood guides I made for my saw won't work with a crooked blade
