I've heard bad things about bowel blockage if they don't chew it up enough (which can happen it's a dog heh) so we get the "no hide" brand ones which are a "digestible rawhide alternative". Not cheap but I want my dog to be safe Smilie

Thanks! Does anyone know if roolhide good for 4 month old puppy? I notice a lot of people give them, but i notice some other chew treat has puppy soft option made specifically for puppy, not sure if it really good since they only have baby teeth.

I highly recommend Yak milk bones. Much healthier and safer. Little pricy but my pups love them more than anything else, and it doesn't mess with their stomach like pig ears/bully sticks/rawhides did.

These are one of my little mans favorite treats. My little guys favorite are the Jerky Wraps by the same brand, but they cost at least twice as much per bag and I can only find them in bulk of 5 packs. So I'm not sure HOW GOOD of a deal this is, but it seems well enough! My dog has had some digestive problems from some other treats (usually the gourmet ones!) but never with anything from this brand.

Generally I would say stick to softer things for a for a few more months, but if you want to try it consider their size and personality. Some pups are easily distracted and bouncy and will chew a little and come back while others may want to just swallow the entire thing whole. If they aren't tiny and you don't think they will swallow huge chunks at a time it shouldn't hurt as long as you keep a close eye on them. Otherwise wait a few more months.

My puppy had a hard time with it and after hours of gnawing it was disgusting and I threw it out. I believe the package doesn't recommend for puppies though. You'd have to watch carefully.

I always gave them to my pup and he was fine, takes a bit to get adjusted. I would try to find rawhide made in the USA though. Different countries have different standards of how they can make rawhide and the ones coming from China (probably this item here) are soaked in chemicals etc.

I have been getting these [amazon.com]for the last ​two years. They are starting to get a bit expensive, but I am not chancing imported stuff.

Yeah, rawhide really isn't good to give dogs because it can cause blockages when they swallow pieces of it.

I've been giving my dog these Munchy Bones. Big bag with 30 treats, over 5lbs.
