I got an email with the following fine prints, don't know if it is a targeted deal or not:

I could be wrong but don't they give you a 7 day trial when you sign up? If they do it would be easy to cancel during that trial period and take advantage of this.

Currently, I have Direct TV Stream with free HBO Max (from AT&T 1Gig Fiber Internet). I wonder if free HBO Max will go away and HBO Max and Discovery+ will join as one subscription with a higher price point.

So, I guess my question is, is this annual subscription worth getting now? Or wait till a day or two before the promo code expires?

If you're paying month to month I think you could still cancel and take advantage of this. Doesn't mention that you have to be a new subscriber. (The ad free price is worth it here) Or if you wanted to upgrade from ads to the ad free I would think you could do that too but it might take an email to their customer service people. I had to email them last year when I couldn't activate this deal and they were helpful and got everything worked out.

Change plan only gives me the $6.99 monthly option. I tried cancelling but it only gives me the option to restart the current plan, not restart with a new plan. May need to cancel and wait for current month/plan to expire and then start from scratch but by then the deal will probably be expired.

I emailed their customer service, hopefully they'll be able to help. Thanks OP!
