Open box excellent $ 461 is a great deal

Keep in mind
No usb c charging

All metal build
Feels premium
Ram is soldered
Ssd can be updated
I have the i7/16/512 version and bought my daughter this i5 version. The battery life is outstanding, the screen is simply gorgeous and v bright outdoors, and the 2.6lb weight i makes it a great road warrior. On the flip side the lack of USB-C is a real downer for me, having to cart around the adapter instead of a universal USB-C adapter. She doesn't mind it, and fixates on the battery life and screen quality. At this price point it's hard to beat.
8gb ram has been milked for years. It should be enough but think of future proofing. standard should be 16gb ram.

it's a decent laptop for the price, however having said that here's a few things to keep in mind.

This is the "Alpha" brand, as people have said it's the "Alright" 2in1 model.

QLED is not to be confused with OLED or Super AMOLED.

8gb paired with an i5 and 256gb seems like the middle-ground for most non-power users.
It's ashamed all ultrabooks have soldered ram these days.

Looks like it will play some games and some more intensive games at low settings, not a gaming laptop to be clear.

No USB C charging is pretty dumb at this point even for lower end laptops.

It's still probably a pretty capable laptop for a Student or non-power user.
It should be upgradable to windows 11 so at least it has that going for it for a newer laptop, though some older laptops bought used can be better value, as always YMMV with USED, so this is a good option for something New with a Warranty.

I see a ton of deals for HP Envy/Spectre laptops but for some reason I always see those failing after the warranty ends and needing board repairs to mosfets or blown USB C controller chips.

Haven't seen many Samsung laptops in repair videos so that might be a good sign.

I bought 2 open box ones about a month ago, both in great physical shape (much of the units still wrapped in plastic), but one of them has mad backlight bleed on the display and is otherwise perfect, but the second one with a nearly perfect display has all the ports on the left side off by about 1-2mm compared to the cutouts in the body, so I'm having trouble deciding which one to keep.

it's a decent laptop for the ~$430 I paid for it, mainly bought it for the rare times I need to use Windows and be portable.

Damn almost thought it was OLED. The Qled is nothing special. I tried the last deal with qled but it wasnt much better than my 8 year old Yoga 1 screen. Waiting doe the AMOLEDs that are out already.

I'd rather get the HP Ryzen I posted for $100 more at Costco (or even the HP Envy with i5 at Costco for $600). Double the ram and memory, and usb-c charging. Not to mention the 2 year warranty.

This one has a touchscreen, which some people prefer, but I couldn't care less about it.

I agree completely. It looks like it's finally making some progress towards being the standard, but it should have happened years ago.
