I have the i7/16/512 version and bought my daughter this i5 version. The battery life is outstanding, the screen is simply gorgeous and v bright outdoors, and the 2.6lb weight i makes it a great road warrior. On the flip side the lack of USB-C is a real downer for me, having to cart around the adapter instead of a universal USB-C adapter. She doesn't mind it, and fixates on the battery life and screen quality. At this price point it's hard to beat.

8gb ram has been milked for years. It should be enough but think of future proofing. standard should be 16gb ram.

With respect to the lack of USB-C charging, one alternate option to using the included charger is to get a USB-C 20V PD to 3.0x1.1mm adapter. Of course such only works when connected to a USB-C charger capable of supplying 20V. But I've found it preferable to having to carry around the dedicated charger.

I would say this a good deal but the 11 gen CPU isn't the best. I would prefer seeing the 12 gen in this instead

I have the i7 version. It's decent, lightweight and has great looking Samsung display. It had a great battery life. Enough life that I downrate the full battery change in settings to not fully top off battery even though it says 100%. This will extend the longevity of the battery over time.


I've not played many games on it. It runs GTA V okay.

Of note, and I've not seen mentioned in the thread, this will take a stylus. It will work with generic ones for the recent models of the Microsoft Surface Pro. MPP type.

Yep. That's what I ended up doing after strongly considering getting an open box for $460. After taxes, the Costco HP Envy came out to be $160 more for double the ram and storage.

Yes to light and moderate surfing. Heck no if you open lots of work files like excel. I have a new work laptop in late 2020 with 8 gb ram, it can't open or load more than 15 exel files without freezing up. I thinks it's a ram issue.....

I doubt that you have real experience or eyes that work. These Samsung QLED screens are better than the Samsung OLEDs in some areas such as peak brightness and pixel arrangement.

"The "QLED" is nothing special"? QLED displays are significantly brighter and engage more colors in the color spectrum than a standard display. Why would you need am OLED screen on a 13" laptop? When it would be significantly darker than a QLED display.
