I am a big fan of rtings reviews. I agree so much with them. I always read their reviews.

There aren't any $40 earbuds putting up a JBL's 7.3 neutral sound score that I see. These JBL outscored the Jabra Elite 75T which has a 6.8 neutral sound. The JBL is definitely better than the Anker $43-80 earbuds. The Apple Airpods Pro has a 7.4 neutral sound (measly .1 point higher than these JBL earbuds) and costs way more than $38. Right now the Airpods Pro is currently on sale for $175 at Sams Club and retails $250. I have the Apple Airpods 2nd gen and it scored a PATHETIC 6.6 neutral sound which I agree with. I bought it for $99 sale on Amazon on 11/5/20 (160 thumbs up deal) before I read the rtings review and wasted my money on it. Trash earbuds. It costs me way more than $40. Atrocious noise isolation and bad fit. Easily the worst slickdeal purchase that I ever made. Lesson learned. Read rtings before making an earbuds/headphones purchase.

Rtings says the best earbud under $100 was the Anker soundcore life p3 (7.1 neutral sound) and the JBL outscored the Anker with its 7.3 neutral sound score.

I am huge fan of the Samsung Galaxy buds+ deals (bought 5 and 3 of them is for myself) but this JBL deal is tempting. These would be a downgrade from my Samsung Galaxy Buds+ though. I would suggest the Samsung earbuds but it will cost lot more than $38. I would look for a sale and pay an extra $30 for Samsung buds+ (new.. and not the downgrade buds 2) but I don't think they sell them anymore and some people don't want to pay that much. I actually really enjoy my JBL over the ear headphones that I got on sale too. Fan of JBL headphones and Bluetooth speakers.

* I bought the blue color. I already have the JBL Live 660NC over the ear headphones in blue that I really enjoy a lot. I was sold on JBL Live 300 due to the YouTube reviewers, positive YouTube comments from its owners, Amazon customer review score and especially rtings review. I always look at rtings when looking at headphones.

* I had the jbl earbuds for a couple days now and I am really enjoying them. They sound great and they are even better than the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ in certain aspects like stability, control, noise isolation and app. I love its stability and controls over the buds+. I'm gonna go mountain biking on real bumpy mountain bike trails with the jbl earbuds. No worries about them falling out. I still think buds+ are better overall and the buds+ crazy deals ($85.49 for two purple BTS and the $59 walmart deals) were better bang for the buck but these jbl are an absolute steal at $38 especially if one missed those crazy Samsung deals or want to have a backup pair with their buds+.

These are going for $64 on Amazon. Okay deal, but the $150 retail is laughable.

The JBL Reflect Flow is available on eBay directly from the JBL store for only $30 and is available in black, blue, or green.
Here's a video comparing the JBL live 300 to the JBL reflect flow for those of you interested.

According to the reviews, both JBL Live 300 and Flow would work only on the right side in single mode. The left one will not work without the right one. Just in case if anyone is curious...

in that case Jabra Elite 75T also have the same limitations. Right earbud is the master.

I know the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ left earbud will work by itself but in my old 1st pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds+, I notice that the battery degraded for the right earbud by like 25% more than the left. Not sure if it is a slave or it is due to all the times with me tapping the right side earbud as I'm a righty. I'm still very happy with them as I put a billion hours into them and the overall battery life is still good.

I am considering the flow from JBL eBay store. Here is the link (also available in neon green and teal if you search the other auctions from this store - only 12 items currently so not hard to find):. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JBL-Refl...632-2357-0

Great call out, never considered. Currently have a similar Anker pair that I use for Teams meetings, I'll basically alternate left or right through the day. Would be a no go for me if only the right works solo, I like only using one when working from home. Can listen in on a meeting but also hear what is going on around me.

Thanks for the link. The longer battery life on the flow is definitely better suited for office use.

Thanks. That saved me some money. I have Jabra's that are like that and screw that nonsense.

Wow. Nice video. I was looking at JBL live 300 but now I don't know which I prefer. The noise isolation of the flow is really good and rated 7.9 by rtings and that is really impressive. I believe the fins provide tighter fit in blocking noise. Reminds me of my jaybird X3 that did good job blocking noise. The battery life is also making me lean towards the flow. I think the 300 sounds little better, has usb-c and touch controls.

Not sure which I prefer more but leaning towards the flow as it will help blocking outside gym noise and battery life is very important to me. The micro USB doesn't bother me too much as I still charge micro USB devices and also because the battery life is really good with the flow. I will say that the 300 looks better than the Flow (ebay). In a odd way, I actually prefer flow physical button over 300 touch button. I found the Samsung touch button with double tap misses and accidental pauses. I don't adjust volume with earbuds too so no big deal there.

One can't go wrong with either at $30 Flow or $38 Live 300 and one can't find better sound earbuds in this price range according to rtings.

Update: Flossy Carter and rtings review scores sold me on the Live 300. I ordered the blue. Flossy Carter got the blue earbuds too. Lot of happy customers with both the 300 and flow in the YouTube comments sections in flossy, jimsreviewroom and other reviewers.
I've been using the live 300 for quite some time and they're absolutely awesome. The flow sound great from the video too but I feel like the live 300 are heavy enough in my ear as it is. I don't think I'd want anything bigger or heavier. Just something to think about.

I have had reflect flows for about a year and just bought a second pair for $30.

They grip in my ears really well, and work really well.

A few cons worth mentioning.

Micro use instead of C if that matters to you.

The case is fairly large. And will bulge a pants pocket more than someone like AirPods.

The right earbud is primary and the left is secondary. So you can just take out the right and listen on it, but to just listen on the left, you will need to remove the right from the case and have it active as well. I use just the right at work fairly often to listen to music without blocking out too much.

My original pair still works perfectly, but for that price, I decided to get a second in a different color in case something happens to them.

Not really. The JBL beats it in pretty much in all categories except for office, portability, noise isolation and some lesser important categories. Budget earbuds are usually gonna have excellent overall battery life when the case is big, buds puts out less bass and no touch controls. Sure the JBL battery could be better. What makes earbuds sound really good is comparing the bass, mid and treble accuracy and that is where JBL has clear advantage. Those are the categories that I look at first. Hardware build and app equalizers are pretty important.

Nothing wrong with looking at budget earbuds (I have the $30 soundpeatss and the Skullcandy jib true that I bought for $15 sale where it retails for $30. I got the jib true because of rtings recommendation). I wouldn't say that they are on the level of this JBL. I never pay full retail for anything. I am not comparing this to my Samsung Galaxy Bud+ at their retail prices. I am comparing the 300 and even the Flow at $30 and nothing is comparing to them at their sale price. Am I gonna take the Flow selling at $75 on JBL website over my crazy Samsung Galaxy Buds+ deals last year? No way but there aren't any $30-37.99 Samsung Galaxy Buds+ deals now. I compare the sale to the competitors in the same price range. I say the same thing when people compare phones in completely different sale price ranges. I grade a product on based what sale price I paid. Not at its launch price. I think everything at launch is overpriced. Is the iPhone 11 worth $700 launch price and then 2 and half years later, you can buy the metro deal for $99 phone? It is good to wait for sales.
Beats it in absolutely every aspect……except for half of them? I wasn't saying the Jlabs were better, I was saying they're almost as good for half the price. The Jlabs can also let either side be used individually, while the JBL can only use the right side by itself.

Either you're getting the cheapest buds that are good enough for you, or you're getting the best buds you can for your budget. It just seems like the JBL isn't the winner for either option.

Where are you getting half of them? It isn't getting half of them. I already told you that the JBL beat the JLAB in all 3 of the very important bass accuracy, mid accuracy and treble accuracy. If you click the question mark next to the neutral sound category, the JBL had a 6 to 1 advantage in the scoring components. No comparison with sound quality. Maybe I am crazy but I think sound quality shouldn't be on the level as importance as say phone calls that the JLAB edged the JBL out of or how the JLAB is little bit more portable with its case (9.6 vs 9.2). Who cares that the JLAB case weighs a fraction of an ounce lighter? Maybe you believe phone call quality is more important than sound quality but I disagree. Not all categories are equal in importance.

Out of the hundreds of earbuds on rtings were you able to find just ONE earbud that put up better than a 7.3 neutral sound and cost $40 or less right now? Nope. You could never find any after you went through the hundred of rtings earbud reviews. A 7.0 isn't better than 7.3 the last time I checked too. I didn't say find the cheapest 7.0 neutral sound earbud. JLAB probably wins. You are fooling yourself in believing that JLAB is better though. Nothing wrong with budget earbuds but you are fooling yourself to think these JLAB are on par with the JBL. A $18 difference isn't much either. I would even pay $10 more over the JLAB with the JBL Reflect Flow too. $20 vs $38 for earbuds isn't much? Why settle? I will happily pay more as I appreciate sound quality and put tons of hours listening to them so I don't use cheap budget earbuds at the gym. If your budget is only $20 for earbuds and you are happy with them, more power to you. Even though I have budget earbuds, I much prefer higher quality better sound earbuds so I am willing to spend $30 on JBL Reflect Flow or $38 JBL Live 300 over $20 JLAB earbuds that obviously is lesser grade.

"Either you're getting the cheapest buds that are good enough for you, or you're getting the best buds you can for your budget. It just seems like the JBL isn't the winner for either option."

Huh? Not the winner? Yet you can't even name one earbud WINNER that produced a higher 7.3 neutral score that is in this price range after you scoped through hundreds of rtings reviews. I didn't ask for earbuds with lesser neutral sound score. Looks like JBL is the winner as they are ranked #1 in this price range. We are grading on a $38 price. Not a $150 price you know. Lot of people must have scored on the JLAB $12.99 deal at best buy and feel the need to defend it. You are better at defending the JLAB against overpriced underperforming Apple AirPods 2nd Gen (6.6 neutral sound) and Beats Studio Buds True Wireless (6.7 neutral sound).

I like the buds plus as well. Picked up a refurb pair from Best Buy for75. Came in perfect condition and no wax like everyone jokes about. Good sound and like 11 hours of play time.

Enjoy your JLAB. I am just willing to spend little bit more for better quality but I don't know your budget situation. If it makes you feel better, the JLAB are probably the best $12.99 sale-$20 earbuds around but don't get silly and overrate them into something that they aren't. Some people must feel that they must defend their past purchases. You can continue to search for a higher neutral sound score earbud that costs around the same price range (JBL Reflect Flow $30 - JBL Live 300 $38) but you won't find any. The keyword is higher neutral sound. The JBL Live 300 is outscoring the cheap JLAB and the way overpriced competitors. The rtings scores never lie and you can see the rtings scores yourself. You should listen to ccbowers comment as he has your JLAB earbuds and brings up legit cons. He sounds unbiased.

I am big fan of the Samsung Galaxy Buds+. It really hits all the marks for me and especially at the ridiculous low price that I bought them. Sometimes I think the touch can be finicky but outside of that, they have been overall great. I have no idea about the newer Galaxy buds how they compare with the Buds+. However I still bought the JBL Live 300 and I definitely don't expect it to be better but I still think I will be perfectly happy with the JBL as well.
