For what these do, I've had a hard time actually finding something that beats it. You can get some quality fixtures from VOLT and not break the bank, but if you're looking for RGBW on top of that, it's a lot harder to come by as there's not many smart bi-pin bulbs.
The real shame (assuming this is the same thing I just ordered 4 of) is that it's the starter kit. You might be able to sell the excess 40w transformers on eBay and then turn around and get the outdoor extension since you could run about 5 of these off 1 40w.
If anyone has experience a confirmed working T-adapter for the hue outdoor line, that would be awesome.
yes, good lord, you can get a $30 light and a $15 enclosure and have the same thing at half price.
For better or worse when you buy Hue you're spending extra on their "ecosystem" of products. The extra cost goes toward maintaining the apps and as an incentive for Phillips to continue developing new Hue products.

Your paying a premium for a well developed product as well and a fully functioning app... That's the price difference to the other rando rgb bulbs for out doors and whatnot the app could be garbage the light Un reliable whereas these are rock solid and will last you the next 10 years or so until the next breakthrough

Well that might just be the biggest on a whim purchase I've made from this site lol.
We're redoing our front yard and anything with house stuff is expensive that this seems kinda cheap and I want to take advantage. Bought extras, if I don't need them I can probably eBay it.
I haven't done much research, but seems like I'll need additional connectors to make things easier, can anyone share some details on what additional accessories or lights I should get?

Volt is a landscaping and hardscaping light manufacturer like Kichler. Except Volt is a lot more reasonably priced. If you want just payhway down lights, they are a fantastic price. They've started releasing RGB, but unless they've partnered with another company you don't know what you're actually getting. I think theirs uses a remote.
For folks that have used these or other outdoor hue products… light fixture quality is heavy solid right? I assume for a walkway to the door (average sized) you need at least 4 but possibly 6. Any advice for spreading out?
