Yes, I guess this thing is just made to sell batteries. Running a light on six AAA has got to be the dumbest way possible.
The Tenergy NiMH batteries have been selling for as low as about 60 cents a piece IIRC. So, for less than $4 you can have a longer term rechargeable power source.
As an ex, these are Tenergy Premiums for $17.09 for 24 1100 mah AAA batteries: Tenergy Premium PRO Rechargeable AAA Batteries, High Capacity 1100mAh NiMH AAA Battery, 24 Pack Rechargeable Batteries https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0914RB...UTF8&psc=1

I purchased 7. Kept 3 and gifted the rest. Great light brightness and several additional functions when needed. A main issue for me is that it's not flat on bottom so you can't rest it on its end. Otherwise it does the job.
This has a very unusual taper and an unusually textured surface. Is this an 'adult' flashlight?
Lol, the cardboard holder makes it seem tapered but it's a straight cylinder shape. My problem with these multi mode lights is that the button wear out after a while and you get random flickers. The only one that has held up over the years for me are the Coast flashlights.
If it's rechargeable I don't want it.
I use rechargeable batteries in all my lights. I always have a couple spare batteries and I don't have to throw away an expensive light because the battery finally failed.
With that said this light probably isn't worth it. AAA kinda suck. AA or 18650 are much better. Also, one fall/drop and it will likely be done. I got tired of throwing away flashlights because they are are not repairable. I do have the rubber coated lifetime warranty Energizer flashlight that has held up extremely well for the last 5 years or so. A couple Eneloops and you're set. 600 lumens is ultra high .. I always complain my 1500 lumens gun light is not BRIGHT enough lmao
If it's older, change the light bulb. I did that to my Surefire and it's around 50% brighter. It's the same bulb that came with it, so it's not any type of "upgraded" bulb. I just didnt know it was wearing out.

Good to know, my light is only 1 year old, but I will try that when I can't live with it anymore lmao

I agree with most of your points.
However, these Energizer lights are tougher than they appear and at least one of mine has survived multiple falls up to 6 feet.
