Just sharing my experiences. Another coast flashlight, the one that uses AA, is always in my front left pocket, period. This EDC of a flashlight has proven to me, more useful than my edc carry folding knife. My phone isn't on me all the time (for flashight) but this flashlight is. Being in the dark and not being able to see isn't a big deal, until it is. I'm not sure I'm sold on AAA battery flashlights though, AA is only slightly bigger by feel, but almost twice the capacity of AAA.

Sure, here is the link to the coast flashlight that I always have that uses AA instead of AAA https://www.amazon.com/Coast-Pure...ast_sto_dp
Also, this flashlight can use AA alkaline (1.5v) but can also use nimh (1.2v) AND 14500 (3.6v) These are all the same physical size but the 14500 is 3.6v and so will be much, much brighter. But if you make the mistake of putting it into a regular device that only takes 1.5v AA, it will kill it by pumping in over twice the voltage, so be careful.

Light tiny ones for 5 bucks shipping that we have on Slickdeals occasionally are great. I have two that are rechargeable. USB-C.

Love Coast lights, I have like 5 of the pencil type inspection ones. Lowe's have a Kobalt one too that is very nice.

Naaaaaah Fenix is where it's at for bang for buck, especially with the various discount codes that have worked long term over the years. Pretty easy to get at least 20%. Coast makes pretty good lights too, but Ive owned dozens of Fenix and never once had anything but good luck with them.

For edc flashlight , I recommend sofirn sc32, 2000lm, type c, very small.

That flashlight uses an 18650 battery not exactly small. AA is both shorter and narrower by a good margin. I guess "very small" is a relative term, but to me and my left front pocket, 18650 is not small enough to be unnoticeable. But 18650 will certainly contain more power if that is what you need.

Big news. Another flashlight on sale!! This isn't the smallest AAA but I like it the most besides the Coast G19 b/c you can just slightly press the switch w/o clicking to flash it on.

Yes, not as small as AA. But for me, 1000lm is the least, 2000-3000lm even better, high lumens is useful, like camping. 18650 is a good balance between size, run time and the max output.
if you really care about size, there are 14500 battery flashlights (e.g: sofirn sp10 pro), compatible with AA battery but you get much higher lumens when using 14500 lithium battery.

Coast warranty is the best I've ever dealt with. When they say lifetime warranty, they mean it.

I have a lot of flashlights, but tend to EDC or grab a Coast when I need one without having to worry

*Ive also EDCd the HX5 for years for pretty much the same reasons

I bought this for full price. earlier this year. Phone flashlights just don't cut it for, say, trying to find something on the back of a crowded shelf in a store. I'm pretty happy with it. It's really bright for the size and it gets warm with extended use but doesn't feel like it's going to get so hot it will make the batteries explode. I have a very nice chromed 2xAAA I got from Gangbood or Aliexpress that turned out to actually be a premium model, but it gets way too hot. Most other 1xAAAs were too dim. I really like this one. Not a huge fan of Coast. I have a lot of them I got on deep clearance at Radio Shack when they went out of business as well as a few other clearance deals. The 3-level brightness ones always go dimmer while you're using them and you don't notice it for awhile until you have to turn it off and on again to get the full brightness back. They all do it and I've taken to only buying single-brightness products from them.
