We have owned many Vizio TVs over the years M and P series. Some of just stopped working around 1 year others local dimming areas have died and mostly HDMI ports have failed. That being said I still like the TV's for the price but I would advise a 2 year extended warranty.

also rtings says the Hisense U6G beats it for a similar price.
I actually returned my Hisense UG6 and replaced it with this. The Vizio is amazingly better than the UG6, aside from the pitiful 'Smart' part of the TV. A Roku solved that issue. With the UG6, any moving object was a blur. A football across the screen, or the scrolling on news channels would be an unreadable blur.

Yes, this Vizio has a 60hz panel, but you would never know it.
I have this TV got it on release in Julyish 2020. It's a solid TV, firmware updates have resolved a lot of issues. The only issue I have is if you don't set the HDMI type (legacy or 2.1) or leave it on auto it will have issues. The entire screen has gone green on more than one occasion. Nothing is broken just had to adjust the HDMI type which sounds easy but I didn't know what the problem was at first. Once an input I setup though the TV looks excellent. The colors and pretty accurate, much more so than my TCL 4 series. HDR is pretty solid viewing angles are acceptable. The local dimming zones are okay, there's not enough of them to really warrant it I think. Overall solid TV. I mostly use it with my PS5 and games look excellent by direct comparison to my TCL 4 series.

This is a good deal IMO. Rtings has this TV with a 7.3 for sound quality and their range for sound seems to go from a low of 4.7 to a high of 7.8. So, this is at the higher end for those that do not want to fiddle with a full sound system.

Seems like this would be a good upgrade for my parents because the Apple Airplay 2 compatibility as well.

I was checking out until I started reading reviews. This tv seems to have a lot of issues I guess. Anyone own it, and have a personal experience besides the ones I've read?

Airplay stuff is kinda finicky. A lot of weird issue we're content just doesn't play, audio is too low and can't be turned up or simply just displays a black screen and doesn't work. I don't know if it's just this TV or integration with Apple stuff in general since their eco system is otherwise pretty closed off. I've used it in the past and it's worked but it's probably not reliable enough to give to someone who can't troubleshoot

100% agree.
Between 3 households, over last 8 years I have bought 10 vizio tvs (5 M series and 2P). My 2 55" tvs are going strong, no issues. My one other M needed a mother board. I bought square trade warranty for all(usually via Costco).

Also agree with airplay being finicky…but works fine most of the time.
For the price, M is excellent. If you can find P line, even better and as long as it doesn't cost that much more

At this price def worth it, unless looking for the next level up of quality and performance

I bit on the 58" model for in-store pickup. Going to chew on it for a day or so before I decide for sure to get it.

Fair warning, these new Vizio TVs are glitchy as crap. I have an M Series, and it randomly restarts, sometimes it won't recognize inputs, and sometimes it won't even turn on. I won't buy another Vizio TV. I've got two TCL 4K TVs and a Samsung 4K TV, and they are all excellent.

I have a previous version of this TV (the 2019 55" M series Quantum M558-g1) that I picked up open box from Best Buy in 2020 for ~$330, and haven't had any major issues with it. It was a secondary TV for my home office, mostly for previous gen gaming and overall I've been happy with it. I like that it supports both DV & HDR10+ (not that I've seen much HDR10+ content). I ended up upgrading my main OLED and moved the previous OLED to my office so I'm no longer using it, but it served me well and I'd definitely recommend for new at this price.

For what it's worth I bought the 65inch version of this TV, had it replaced through Costco due to issues and then returned it due to more issues.

Ending up getting a TCL R646 and it's night and day better than this Vizio.
