250 nits is a bit too dark for viewing in sunlight, in my opinion. The glare will surely get in your way. That being said, I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker. All my previous laptops have been around 250 nits.

Our household has a couple of laptops with 250 nits screens (as well as one with 300 nits), and 250 is fine.
In a direct sunlight, even screens with much higher brightness ratings would have a hard time. I have a phone with an almost 600 nits OLED screen, and it still gets defeated outdoors on a bright sunny day.

I am not seeing the 250nit is a deal breaker at all.
