How well does this clean the 2 kids and a dog? I hate bathing mine.

I have been happy with my S4. If you don't need the mopping (which I find fairly useless on these robots) this works great. App is user friendly and the lidar is great for mapping. I like how you can select individual rooms to clean. Only downside is that I need to empty it every time I use it but i got 2 small kids and a dog so that probably (definitely) plays a role

No you will have to remap your new vacuum. I recently upgraded from a S5 to S7+ and did a lot of research. There is not a way to transfer it over.

I don't have small kids anymore but have a couple older and we've got two 70lb dogs and one small. It works fantastic. The only thing I wish it had was carpet boost. I'm actually giving it to my daughter and getting myself another, likely not the S4 only due to the carpet boost.

Edit - I see the S4 max has boost so I'll be jumping on this.

Love mine as well but I have to empty it multiple times with dog fur. Bought the Roomba J7+ and it's carpet performance and auto-empty base are great, and some options the Roborock doesn't have are nice, such as clean zone (opposite of keep out zone) and second pass (perpendicular).

Though, we still have the S4 and the app (with live position and path) and battery life are significantly better.

If you don't need the base, or mopping, this looks like a fantastic deal.

Anyone know if I have a S6 Max with two maps and I get this will the S4 Max be able to use the map that the S6 has already done?

Perfect timing for this deal, I've been researching robot vacuums for awhile and landed on these models. Just an FYI, if you're looking to purchase the S5 Max, the white model requires you to clip the coupon in order to get the same savings. The reason why I went with the S5 over S4 was because it supposedly has better ability to deal with high-pile carpets/rugs, and my household is mostly hardwood floor with rugs scattered throughout. We'll see if this works well.

Also, FWIW, there is also this version of the S5 that's refurbished and is ~$160 less: https://www.amazon.com/roborock-R...07YC624VV/

Picked up a Shark Ai MopVac for $250 after tax. Is this a better mop?

I don't have the S4 Max, but rather the original S4. It has been a really good machine picking up after 2 dogs for over 2 years.

My home is all luxury vinyl plank on the 1st floor with a few thin rugs.

Currently my S4 has 1356 hours and over 1.05 million sq ft covered on 1059 run cycles. I've only replaced the front nose wheel and done routine cleaning on it. Can't imagine the S4 Max being a step backwards.

I bought this exact same model on Black Friday (paid 279 back then, 10 less than this), and I'm very happy with it. 1200sqf apartment with one dog and one cat, and is works pretty good. The sensor is smart, the mapping system is pretty good, suction also good.

It's better than the Roomba 675 I used to have.

S4 didn't do too well with high pile carpets. S4 Max seems to have fixed that issue.

No, the maps are device specific as they're stored on the device.

Personally, I'd stay away from the S5 unless you go for the S5 Max. The older S5 doesn't work with the new Roborock App, you have to use the Mi Home App with it instead and it has several older features that have been upgraded quite a bit, one of the biggest being the processor on it which is the older processor and doesn't make as efficient mapping routes and takes longer to process them.
