Think of an impacts quick change chuck with a drills internals but only the low speed. It has a clutch to adjust tension. It is great for things you don't want to strip out that are delicate. We use them for cabinet hinges, door knobs, etc. it has become a favorite of mine for things I don't want to use a handheld screwdriver for but can't risk stripping out the treads.

You can use a drill to do the same but you have the chuck to deal with when swapping bits or you have to use a quick change bit holder. The size and weight of this unit is much smaller and lighter than a drill.

The advantages over a drill are:
Size
Weight
Quick Change Bit Chuck

The advantages over an impact are:
Weight
Clutch Adjustment
Fine tune motor control

Obviously you don't want to use this in an application where you would need a drill or impact. This is a specialty tool that has a specific purpose.

Correct. Impact driver typically has same chuck type but totally different guts

I finally got mine from back in November when they had a slightly better deal. The screwdriver is great, but the one I got has a bad chuck, the bits wobble slightly. I had to wait 2 months for the tool the first time, I didn't want to wait that long again. I use it mostly to work on TV's, and it's a great tool, better than my m12.

I'm way too into the Milwaukee M12 system by now to consider these, but these seem like good deals. The impact wrench is reasonably powerful at 200ft-lb breakaway, probably enough to handle most auto fasteners. Is it the one that's been tested side by side with the M12 stubby 3/8" wrench? The drill seems decent, and what they call a "screwdriver" seems more like a chuckless drill that can be used as a drill or driver with 1/4" hex bits, just not impact.

I assume you have to buy the charger separately? Kind of weird they don't include one, they're generally not that expensive.

Disagree. I've got 12v and 18v tools and grab the 12v 90% of the time.
