I have been looking for one of these for about a year. I missed the last hackable HD deal. Not quite as good as those, but no hacking required. It has gone in and out of stock a couple times in the last week but I was able to get one by checking back a few times. This one comes with 2 batteries while the tool only version costs $649. Also read that Makita has a price increase on March 31. Good luck!

This saw has some pretty good reviews. I might have to pick this one up LOL.
For context, this kit, with two extra 5.0ah batteries (4 total) was $529.99 back in May 2020 (Makita sponsored promotion) and is when I bought.
Great saw, but very very heavy. You're not saving any weight or adding any additional portability by bring cordless (other than convenience) but you aren't sacrificing power or precision either.
