Hence it's 300 dollars cheaper..it's an option for others, not saying they are equal
$300 less for basically an machine that isn't going to last, because 8Gb Ram and 128Gb SSD is useless.

Very tempted, but I feel like this doesn't have enough ports. I'm happy it has 2 USB C ports rather than just 1, but I need a USB A port for connecting to a mouse, printer, etc. Also would be nice to have the 2 USB ports on opposite sides, to avoid possible thermal issues when both ports are in use, but not a big deal and not many laptops are designed like that

Is this actually worth MSRP? It's so discounted I can't help but question the original price

Surface laptops are worthless imo. Ods screen size/resolution and hell lot of small issues.

How do these work on a lap? Does the keyboard lock in place? My laptop sits on my legs a lot. The floppy surface keyboards suck for me..

I would hold off to see if it drops lower with 12th Gen Intel being so much more superior - and they're finally rolling out. My work laptop has a Core i5-1145G7 with 16GB RAM, and I don't know, the performance doesn't impress me at all when comparing to my 8th Gen Intel Core i5 and 10th Gen Intel Core i7 personal laptops. My work laptop is literally in turbo-mode (blasting out hot air) 80% of the time - even when I'm simply just reading e-mails in Outlook. That fan always in high-gear, I imagine, would be detrimental to the battery life of such a tiny tablet.

you may want to use bios setting to change fan speed. Also maybe some dust build-up blocked vent

"Ods screen size/resolution"

3:2 screen ratio is many people's dream for a business-oriented laptop.

Agreed. If my main use was watching Netflix, 16:9 is good. If I want to get work done, I hate that aspect ratio. 3:2 is way better for a productivity machine, just my opinion.

If it's this one, it's an i3 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Not even close to comparable specs.

I bought this about a month ago. For someone looking for a secondary device (such as me) and can't justify spending a lot of money for all the bells and whistles. I think its fairly decent. I really only use it for virtual interviews so far. I'm confident that the i3 11th gen is better than my previous laptop (i7 6th gen) and that it should fill the need for travel computer.

In terms of specs, the X12 is better, except maybe in screen resolution but its also 300 more.
